Cam feels safer running than in the pocket

Not saying I know more than the experts, but the few times I have watched Kalil I haven't been impressed. I don't want to take a guy just because of his name. Seems like all the draft guys like him though.

I'm with you on that. Every now and then he just dives for the legs of his assigned block. It seems he would be much more effective if he stayed on his feet. Maybe that is how he is being coached, but I don't like it.

And if we want to protect Cam, let's develop a bit more balance in the play calling.

Didn't sound like a swipe at the line when I listened to it. They asked him specifically about taking hits and he said he gets hit more often and the hits are worse in the pocket.

He backed that up by explaining that he won't always see the hits coming, and even if he does, his job is to throw the ball which means he can't brace for impact.

Seemed less of an explanation of bad line play and more of an "it is what it is" about being a QB

Criticism is only allowed for certain players. Now watch your green turn red. I think we need sticky thread that gives a list of which players are protected and which are criticisable. I did not get all that red from posters. I think that must have came from superior powers. Opinions should be kept to our selves. Wonder if you can post stats. I hope Cam comes around. I was very happy when he had some great games in the season beginning. That's positive. a am a Panther fan. (But not blind.) Stats state that just 2/3 through the season, he already has surpassed Jakes average interceptions per season.

If you average Jake's picks across the seasons in which he played 10 games or more his average is actually 14.67 INTS per season so technically they are tied.

Cam also has 2 lost fumbles. In Jakes seasons where he played more than 10 games he averaged 3.5 lost fumbles per season.

Cam has 21 TDs rushing and passing. In the seasons where Jake played 10 or more games he averaged 19.5 TDs rushing and passing per season.

So although the rookie is on pace to have more turnovers he is also going to dwarf total TDs. Take from that what you will but he is just a rookie and will improve in decision making.

For the sake of the team, I hope so. I have never been more dissapointed watching the Panther games. I guess the glimmer of hope watching Cams early games just makes it harder and more dissapointing when we lose.

I would also guess it I took a look at the passing yards, Cam would already surpass Jake's season average. Stats are so just so the anouncers have something to say in between plays. Wins is what counts.

I'll take progress in a year like this one. The wins will come.

All along, I've been saying what Cam is saying. Anybody with eyes can see that he has taken much harder hits in the pocket than he has in the open field. In fact, most of the time he doesn't get hit at all when he runs because he either goes out of bounds or flops down before they can even touch him.
