Is Dwill back to form?

i think its just that the oppurtunities given to him were better. like the runs to the outside, and catches out of the backfield. when we've let him run outside its usually turned out well. But No matter what he does on the field those that will bitch about the contract will bitch about the contract, dont think theres much that can be done about that.

I don't think Deangelo was every really out of form. It's just that our offensive sucks at blocking and fans do sh1t job of evaluating players.

But Stewart has been running hard, yet our blocking sucks? I believe it's more Dwill than the blocking

They finally called the right plays for him. He can hit holes up the middle, but he's at his best when he gets outside. They need to save the inside running game for Stew.

I don't believe that Deangelo is any physically different to where he was a year and a half ago. He hasn't seen the field enough and I don't believe he would deteriorate that fast.

Granted he hasn't been awesome, we also haven't really made Deangelo a focus in the offense. Stewart can make plays regardless because he can bowl people over.

However I think next season we will see the emergence of Stewart as the starter. He will just be too fast and too strong not to be the featured guy. Deangelo might still be as good as he ever was but if you consider the politics of the game(his age, contract, Stewarts age, draft status) it's time for him to be the guy.

DWill is fine. He's not the same back as Stew in terms of style and treating him like he is by running him straight up the middle without a lead blocker is a terrible idea. He has had a respectable YPC all year and he was running hard, just the holes weren't there.

I thought DWill made some good blocks in the passing game this week, which will greatly increase his value to this offense, because he is an awesome runner in space... and it may be that we need to use the passing game to get him the ball in space because of how our offense works.

Overall I think he's the same back he's always been - we're just running a totally different offense and Chud is still finding out how best to utilize him.

So are you saying that Stew is a bad runner b/c he had 2.7 yards per carry in the same game?

Can we all just get along?! ;) Both D-Will & Stew are excellent runners. It really is the play-calling, IMO. By the above reasoning, we would have to conclude D-Will is a much better RB than Stew, but that just isn't true either way (agian, both are excellent).

Huh? I'm saying how can you say we're bad at run blocking when Stew has been outperforming Dwill.
