Having thought about this, I think Elway was just actually removing temptation from Foxy. Elway's electro shock therapy is not taking hold and twice last Sunday Fox was motioning for Orton to come into the game but the move was overruled from upstairs.

you're right, this guarantees that no matter how poorly The Golden Calf of Bristol plays, Fox is stuck with him, or starting another QB from Notre Dame. This way, Fox can't pull The Golden Calf of Bristol after a bad game and a half for Orton and cause an uproar in the fan base... instead they will have to live or die with The Golden Calf of Bristol for the rest of the season
