We have the worst defense in the league. Having to abandon the run every week because we're either playing catchup or getting in a shoot out lends itself to dime defenses with four down pass rushes against a rookie QB who's forced to throw it 45 times.

This isn't on Cam, you twits.

Fwiw, we didn't have to abandon the run at any point in yesterday's game, except perhaps in the last couple of minutes. The offense as a whole was not good yesterday. Oline didn't pass block well, Cam was inconsistent and overthrew his receivers, and receivers had a couple of critical drops. The run game was the one thing that worked well yesterday. But only one score in the second half yesterday, and a lot of three and outs and a couple of turnovers. The offense was still better than the defense, but thats not setting a very high standard.

Name an elite QB that would not throw a pick against a loaded zone backfield and having to throw the ball 20+ yards because all hope is lost.

Honestly, I sometimes feel you try to come up with the worst posts possible.

That pick wasn't the one that did it though. It was the one at the top of the 3rd. When he got pummeled and we still had a chance to win the game. I knew he would played bad in the 4th if we lost the lead. But we had a chance to re-take it at the top of the 3rd. That's the one that killed us.

But honestly, you can't think all hope is lost when you are in a close game late in the 4th quarter. You tied the game, awesome. They went back and scored on us. Screw it go back and do it again. And we panicked. He makes bad passes in tight coverage under pressure.

Why was Johnathan Stewart our best receiver against the Lions? Think about it. And how many of those 85 yards were actually through the air?

Cam Newton will win ROY fairly easily, hes gonna go down as one of the best rookie QBs of all time. It doesnt matter how many alts you make or how much you troll Zods board, youre not smart enough to change any of that. Accept that Cameron is far better than Moore could try to be.

Defensive coordinators game plan for all quarterbacks. Not all throw 4 interceptions in a game.

He hasn't regressed. We're just playing better defenses than we have played all year. And yesterday we played the best pass defense we played all year long. We lucky we got 3 turnovers and Stafford stunk it up too early in the game or it would have been a lot worse.

But unfortunately he hasn't gotten any better either. Still can't win a close 4th quarter game under pressure. 1-8 and it just keeps on counting. Maybe against Indy next week.

So lets stop this "cam is regressing" horse dung. Cam is not regressing. Despite defensive coordinators now game planning for him (by the way, who was the last Panthers QB a defense had to completely game plan around....I'll wait), Cam continues to put up the cheese and do more than enough to win games in this league (provided a Panthers defense that is actual NFL quality).

So the next time you hear about "Cam is regressing, Cam is losing it, etc" Just slap that idiot in the face and hope Pavlovian conditioning takes hold.

Zod, everyone knows I've been pro-Cam from day one and that won't change. He has all the tools and has shown how good he can and will be... That's not a concern.

I actually tried to change my thread title to better suit what I meant - Chud is regressing, and Cam is suffering as a consequence. It's true. And I mentioned in that thread, just as you did here, that a big part of it is because defenses have 10 weeks worth of tape on him now.

The Titans game and yesterday's pick fest have been his worst outings in my opinion. Yes, he scored two running TDs and had an awesome TD throw to Smitty, but the windows are getting smaller and Chud is putting Cam in bad positions.

DWill was ripping huge runs yesterday and Chud only gave him 10 carries. That is ridiculous, especially when we took the lead. Mix the run and pass better and it's likely those deep bombs are going to be more open and available and you kill more clock to keep this atrocious defense off the field.

Instead, Chud insists to keep throwing, with each incompletion saving clock for the opponent to come back, as they do, and giving them more opportunities to figure out exactly what we're trying to do in each game. But, the general philosophy has already been cracked and now we're seeing LBs dropping 10+ yards off the LOS into coverage waiting on passes as they only rush with their DL. Chud is not adjusting and Cam has had a rough two weeks because of it.

Some of you don't look up nada or think. You just blabber. And the best one before this we faced was Titans and Redskins. We still have to face the Texans and they are ranked #1 in pass defense.

PS: Of course they've also played against the worst passing offenses in the NFL, so take that with a grain of salt. I always do. And so have the Texans.

We could treat Cameron like Moore, and ask him to lean on an athlete to win. You know, make Jonathan Stewart the QB, make Reggie Bush the QB and leader. But who wants that? I dont want just a body who's only as good as the back hes handing off to. I want a QB, and we finally have that. A guy were grooming to stand on his own two that doesnt need a great running game just to look servicable.

I think the OL has tried helping out with that by giving Cam some space with our false starts and holding penalties down there :lol:
