Does anyone know why Peppers won't sign his tender?

I'm not saying you or anyone else is lying about that, I just personally ever saw that online anywhere or even on the Huddle. Do you have a link so I can check it out?

The first person to say anything about him staying was Gross, who said he had talked to Peppers and said he was willing to stay. Link

I have the feeling the Carolina Panthers aren't going to give away defensive end Julius Peppers. They will expect top compensation in a trade or they will keep him with the franchise tag. They could tag Peppers again next year if they had to, and if there wasn't a salary cap, it would be expensive but not impossible. I also have the feeling that Peppers isn't totally determined to leave Carolina. Link

Not saying it was or is definite, but when the guy he goes against in practice everyday is texting him and is saying that he isn't completely sold on leaving, I would tend to believe him.

FALSE: Trade discussions aren't allowed between teams until he signs.

You are missing the point....ONCE AGAIN.

If Peppers signs the tender, we can trade him to any team as long as they will take him with only this year under contract. Doubtful, but could happen.

Julius will either be a Panther next season or he won't... Move along.. There are more interesting things to discuss... You are letting this define the offseason..

Okay.....if this has not defined everything about this than what is it?? The Nick Hayden re-signing? We cannot proceed with anything until Peppers has signed this tender...

The Panthers cap room is tied up, No money for even draft picks as of today..so yes this is defining the off season for us to date.

Because he doesn't want to be here and doesn't want the Panthers engaging in trade discussions about him until his agent has had a chance to chase down every possible deal out there.

If he wants out he will sign his tender. Until he does there won't be a trade. Teams won't negotiate through the agent especially this guy who has no experience and is already in over his head. As Belichek said a few days ago, if he wants a trade sign the tender. Truth is that Peppers still controls the talks to a point. All he has to do is say he won't go to a certain team and that will effectively stop the negotiations. No one in their right mind would give up picks for him unless they can sign a long term deal. Because no one but us will pay 16 million for him for one year.

Not signing his tender almost assures that he will be here next year or sitting out. The Panthers won't put anything in writing guaranteeing peppers anything like "we will only trade you here or here" if he signs the tender because they don't know things will work out. And they won't begin formal negotiations until peppers signs it. So there is virtually no reason for him to not sign it. His agent is giving him bad advice and apparently he is listening.

And those who believe he is doing the right thing by not signing are wrong as well. You can criticize Belichek all you want but the man is anything but stupid. And if he says that is what Peppers should do, he is speaking from knowledge of the situation. He probably knows that his agent can't negotiate his deal or that he is in over his head.
