Truth Is: The Defense Is Horrible. Chud and Cam Are Regressing.

Cam's constantly wild passes and atrocious footwork in the pocket concerns me more than 4 interceptions.

The wild passes and footwork today were a result of poor snaps and pressure. Again, Cam is being put in bad positions because defenses are getting pressure with 4 or 3 and dropping everyone else into coverage so as a result, as with any QB, his footwork and mechanics take a backseat to trying not to be murdered on every play. Can't blame Cam for that.

Chud has to make the defenses respect the run - and not Cam running. That gives us another great dimension offensively, but the defense has to respect DESIGNED runs and not just Cam options, draws, or sneaks.

Yes he did, so that's how I'm looking at it. But, like I've said, I'm putting about 90-95% of it on Chud, he's not helping him.

Everyone here knows I've been pro-Cam from day one, and will continue to be - he IS our franchise QB... no doubt about it, he's the man. But, Chud has to help him and protect him going forward (not in a game manager way but in a pick your spots to take over type way), and the last few weeks he hasn't done that.

I guess you can that Cam has "regressed", but I say it more that Cam spoiled the fanbase early in the season. Now that he's fallen back down to Earth the last two weeks, the fact that he is a rookie is caught up and is hard to take for some people.

1st INT -Gross got manhandled and caused it, pushed into Cam just as he was throwing

2nd INT - Hangartner got destroyed by Suh, Cam tried to throw to receiver and got nailed in split second

3rd INT - Great play by LB, pass was perfect otherwise

4th INT - junk time

Funny, you can post this about every interception or QB ever.

So picks aren't the QBs fault after all, glad we finally found that answer.

Total bullshit. We have two of the best backs in the league, and one of them today was absolutely destroying. Let's let these guys do what they do best...

Well you would figure that when Williams was averaging 10 yards per carry they would do more runs(not up the gut).

I put this squarely on the coaching staff and their freaking inability to make adjustments. They know defenses are playing pass 1st,so WTH aren't we pounding the rock to draw the defense up into the box???

Perhaps the title was strong, but if you read my post, it's mostly due to Chud.

The D played pretty good, considering....until the end when they were worn down. The Lions are a comeback team and we allowed it. we should have had at least 10 more ponts in the first half, but that wasn't enough.

So yeah, this goes back to Chubbs... 4 or 5 plays were like wtf? why there? it shows they are not trying to win the games, but to give Cam as much experience as possible. Fans are just going to have to calm down because that is what they are doing and nothing will change this far into the season.

There was minimal pressure today. The tackles did a good job of keeping the ends on the corners most of the day. Cam didn't step up. He arm-threw most every play.

seemed to me there was a lot of pressure up the middle actually, he rarely had much room to step up. maybe I am wrong though.

Sometimes INT's are other players fault or flukes, sometimes they aren't.

Even with INT's Cam had a decent game. Several long, impressive drives against Lions in their DOME. Broke Rookie Rush TD record today.

Peyton Manning had 28 INT's his rookie season, Cam would have less than he does if Chud was little more John Fox than he is.

Exactly. I am confident at this point that Cam has "developed" he knows what he's looking at for the most part and it will only get easier for him in terms of reading defenses as he progresses in his career. And obviously, he has all of the tools, we've seen how good he is and know he'll only get better.

But, today was a result of Chud's stubbornness. How many times do you think you'll have sustained success when you're sending out 4 or 5 guys out to receive when they're dropping 7 and 8 guys to cover them every play? That's not a good formula for success last time I checked, especially in a vertical offense and with defenses able to not only generate pressure but be in our backfield within a second of the snap...

Put some heavy sets out there and run the ball on them... guess what, you can run play action off that and hit them for vertical passes once they commit to the run... But nope, Chud is going to show everyone how unstoppable his passing scheme is. It's like beating your head against a brick wall.

Even Aaron Rodgers would have a hard time in the same situation. But, Green Bay would never have that problem because they aren't a vertical passing offense, I'm just saying...
