Article from Denver Post on Carolina running game...

The support for the guy's argument is that they didn't allow Larry Johnson another big game the second time after on he had earlier in the season against them. Terrible argument. LJ hasn't had a big game all year since his legal troubles mid-season and I think he only had like 2 good games before that.

Oh, and they've reduced their yards per game allowed by 32.3 yards to a 23rd best 122.00 yards per game..

We'll see what Deangelo and JStew have to say about that on sunday

They lined up in their traditional 4-3 set in the Sunday rematch against the Chiefs at Invesco Field at Mile High and held Johnson to 3.3 yards a carry, with no run longer than 11.

They held Johnson to 3.3 yards a carry? We held him to less than that the whole game.

It sounds like they're trying to address their defensive line woes. I just hope we address our own secondary issues.

Interesting comments...I particularly like the one about Carolina's run game being more of a finesse run team...and how they are going to stop the run with 7 in the box...

A finesse run team? That's quite an oxymoron.

Next they'll start talking about our smashmouth passing attack. Wait, that might actually be appropriate knowing we have Steve Smith. ;)

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
