I think that whiff on Johnson was the nail in his coffin. Thin ice doesn't get thicker with plays like that.

He didn't whiff, Johnson made a great play...Gamble missed his re-route at the LOS. That ball was overthrown to any other WR who isn't 6'5" with a 40in. vertical.

sherrod martin takes terrible angles at the ballcarrier and has whiffed on multiple tackles this season. he seems more concerned about trying to snag an interception in space than making an actual stop.

without trying to overreact - there's already enough of that going on - i'm wondering if safety isn't a position we should consider trying to upgrade during the offseason.

I will admit that Sherrod hasn't fulfilled my expectations of him, but he still has the kind of speed you need in a guy who is your last line of defense. He just needs to work on his tackling. Once we get a suitable corner on the opposite side of Gamble, our secondary will be scary.

really, CJ, Godfrey, Beason, Gamble are in place for the D going forward. every other position deserves to be in flux and available for major roster moves. I'd maybe include some of the young D-line guys since you can only make so much overhaul in one offseason. I doubt any player feels their job is secure at this point.

I'd add Anderson and Hardy to that list too.

What we really need on D, besides speed at the LB position, is a LEADER. Right now, we don't have that. Gamble, as good of a guy as he is, is not a leader. Neither is James Anderson or CJ. When this D gets Beason back, it not only gains one of the top 3 LBs in the game but also gains a leader.

Fug Martin at safety. Move him to corner where he played in college.

you guys might as well forget about beason, if he comes back hell probably jsut get hurt again, davis probably wont be back either. sherod is toast. way to many missed tackles this year. what we need is a real-deal-found-him-in-some-backwoods-bar Big man for the d line. and draft a 1st round linebacker 2nd round corner 3rd round FS and were done. Maybe pick up a free agent O line spot or 2 and were already set everywhere else.

Sherrod Martin and Captain need to play special teams. They are better suited to be role players. They get beat too much and do not possess enough tackling ability to be on defense throughtout the game. This defense needs a major make over. Needs to be gutted and have new parts inserted. We need an impact guy on the Dline (a guy like peppers). I feel like CJ is a better #2 DE. Def. need some donkeys at DT. beason and anderson can hold down the LB core. Need better talent at safety and another solid starting corner if not two.
