It's a rebuilding and a learning season for all. Calm the fuck down

If the fanbase as a whole demands changes then changes will be made. JR has shown in the past he listens to fanbase but right now I don't expect anything major to happen as there's so many people still in the "eh we're rebuilding, let's wait and see" mode.

I'm legitimately asking if we have another weak offseason and losing year if that attitude will change or if the excuses and "just wait till next year" would remain.

If by fanbase you mean PSL owners then he listens to a point. But that didn't stop him in 2010 and won't stop him down the road. People are in the we're rebuilding mode because we are. If we win 4 games this year and 8 next year that will be another non winning season in 2012 but we will have doubled our win total in both Rivera's years coaching from the year before. That would be good progress. Should we be happy or bitching at that point??

So when a guy that's won multiple super bowls and pulled off the most lopsided trade in NFL history says the most important piece to a winning franchise is the guys who evaluate and bring in talent, well he's wrong and internet poster panthers55 is right. ok then

Pretty ridiculous comparison really. So the guy in New England wins multiple Super bowls with a myriad of different personnel and everyone says it is the system and not the personnel. Instead lets listen to RnR who would have us acting like Dallas who has great talent but can't seem to win because their system sucks. I guess the the world class whiner RnR should be promoted to coach and talent advisor.

i consider this year to be the starting point.

this is the only year they get a pass, though.

they should have winning seasons from next year on. seeing the way the offense plays with newton who is a rookie who didn't have a full offseason and the whole team working in a new offense...once those things are taken away they should be spectacular. the only thing that can make this offense better is time.

the defense is another matter, but considering how they improved the offense after one year, they should be able to get the defense to a point that they at the very least aren't costing us wins like they have. you get beason and edwards back in there and give them a couple additions and a full offseason and they should be solid enough.

all we need is for the offense to be able to finish a game and the defense not to give it up. they should have everything they need heading into next year to make a winning season possible.

my sentiments exactly

lol yeah new england doesn't have any talent lol thanks for the contribution panthers55

On defense there are questions about the system and the talent. Take your pick which one you believe or some of both. But if Brady wasn't clicking the offense at a very high level they wouldn't be winning based on the defense.

Glad to be of help and explain it to you.

Plus, we should have an easier season too.

a bit easier.

according to the latest schedule rotation they started last year it's looking like we 've got the NFCE and AFCW next year so we are going to be playing these guys (in addition to NFCSx2 anyway)

home: cowboys, giants, raiders, chargers, NFCW team (last place in 2011?)

away: eagles, redskins, broncos, chiefs, NFCN team (last place in 2011?)

Newton was forcing the ball because that it what the coaching staff wants him to do this year. Whenever teams drop back in coverage like TEN and DET did, Cam should punish them on the ground. Notice his 2 rushing TDs?

I hope that the coaches take Cam's leash off next year.

I don't think they are telling him to force the ball at all. That is his decision based on down distance and time on the clock. That is all part of the learning process. Don't you remember last week that Cam was talking about throwing the ball away and not forcing it. Obviously the coaches are telling him that but he is so competitive he tries to do things beyond his ability right now.

i think they are letting him make a lot of decisions that teams don't ordinarily ask or allow their rookie or young QBs to make.

that may put him at a disadvantage early because he makes more mistakes that way, but in the longer run it will help him out. he will be more confident in his ability to make decisions and he will have learned from experience what to do and not do in various situations.

one theme i notice is that they are taking away typical crutches that a lot of young QBs rely on.

-pass heavy where most teams with young QBs are run heavy.

-deep and risky passes where normally short, high percentage passes are called

-no wristband playbook

i think they are doing a great job of preparing him for the future.
