It's amazing how much hate Cam Newton still gets...

Delhomme helped us win games as much as anybody in the glory days. Or have you forgotten all the fourth quarter comebacks?

Cam is on pace to be a great player but I don't get why you guys have to constantly bash former players and coaches as if that somehow shows you are loyal to Cam and the current coaching staff.

Well said dude. One of my favorite games ive watched was in 07-08, we played baltimore at m&t stadium, were trailing going into the 4th, and after having a terrible day, he still lead us to a victory.

Regardless of statdaddy's (pffl) reputation around here, this is a damn good post!

Being good and truthful are two different things.

A fan who is honest to themself would realize that Cam isn't the problem with the Panthers. AsTim The Golden Calf of Bristol has shown, a QB can go 55 minutes without doing much and his team can still win because everyone knows defense win games and offense just put up points.

For anyone to sit and blame Cam for the reason why Panthers aren't winning, they are seriously ignoring the two just as important parts that make up the Panthers' team.

...from callers on Charlotte sports talk radio. I don't know if it's because so many other fan bases infest this city and just hate because they are asshole transplants, or if it's because our fan base is just totally misguided? It's freaking pathetic.

Known facts...Haters will hate-Whiners will whine-Panthers fans will be happy and proud they have a young franchise QB like Cam Newton.

pffl'll be back.

as to the topic, I don't mind people who don't like Cam, most of the reasons people have for thinking he sucks or whatever are easily dismissed. I also know most of those people will shut up once he starts winning. I think it's pretty clear to see he is not responsible for many of our losses and he's actually been pretty instrumental in us being in tight games.

but when a team sucks, especially two years in a row, players start to come under fire...

I mean fug there are patriots fans that I work with that talk about getting rid of Brady every week after the Patriots lose. Can't please everyone all the time... unless you win. ;)

Obviously not. If it was you'd see it.

...I do see it, I've never said Cam has kept us out of close games. You're the one that thinks he *loses* us games.

It's a two way street... Yes, he's put us in some close games with turnovers, but he's kept us in games at all in others due to his passing abilities where we'd likely just get blown out if he isn't performing at a high level (see vs Tennessee for an example of what happens when Cam isn't playing pretty well)

Proof is on the field. Got to get it done. Want to be a hero and run for that first down, make dam sure you get it. Throw a pass to a stationary target down field, make sure ther are no defenders in the area!

Not to mention. Don't hold on to the ball so long your receivers get wrapped up. Learn to lead your defenders away from your receivers with your eyes so they have room to break free. STOP reacting to defenses. Make THEM react to you. You are in charge. And certainly STOP throwing passes behind the line of scrimmage or for short dump offs on 3rd and 15. That poo isn't going to get you a first down in the NFL on 9 out of 10 attempts.

Smith isn't a damn running back and not even they can do it.

Sadly I think most of it is driven by race at this point, there are folks who just won't accept a black QB.

PFFL, Sylvianlight, TRD. If Cam were white theyd use him to bash the Vicks, and Tyrod Taylors of the world for not being real QBs. They damn sure wouldnt make 40 alts tryna convince us hes a failure or how bothered they are by how much praise hes getting. Just being a Panther isnt enough for those guys. Its deeper than that. They relate to and pull for Dalton, The Golden Calf of Bristol, Moore more. Asking them to do differently goes against theyve been taught or learned. Cam Newton isnt on Sylvianlights team, The Golden Calf of Bristol is.

I agree that a lot of opinions driven here are race driven. The black racist refuse to allow any criticisms of Newton.

Only difference between me and a "true" Panther fan is that I will call it like I see it.

A similarity is that I hope Cam gets all this straightened out.

You know, I hoped for a long time for the failing Jake and Jon duo would be gone. But every Monday there they'd be.

Somebody's Dad used to say hope in one hand and poop in the other and see which one filled the fastest. Point: Just look at what all that hope got voters.

GO PANTHERS! Time to win one today!!!
