It's amazing how much hate Cam Newton still gets...

Overall SouthKak im pleased with how our fans have responded to Cameron. A lot of our fans have grown to love this guy and understand and see the big picture. There will always be a vocal minority of haters who just cant relate even as Panther fans, but overall its been like a dream of mine seeing the embrace. A few dumbasses on the radio or on a message board cant alter reality. The reality is its a beautiful afternoon in November and we got one of the best rookie QBs (that alot of folks covet) as our guy. 2-7 yet Pantherland loves him and remains optimistic and the Cam haters resent him for it. Lol.

I think the Huddle is misguided. I don't think people are hating Cam Newton. I think most people not so obsessed with him can see he's making a lot of game-costing mistakes and it's mainly been the offense that's dropped the ball in the end.

People will stop criticizing him when he leads our team to wins and starts playing the game better. It's that simple. When we win everyone will love him. But most people aren't so damn up his ass that they don't know losing 6-7 close 4th quarter games when your offense has more tries than anyone else in the league isn't the QB's fault and the offense. Or when they see so many things he clearly does wrong.

Just people here. Dudes who expect people never to criticize him think it's hate. But in reality, it's just straight talk. And it also comes with the territory of being the #1 draft pick. And he brings a lot of poo on himself because of the things he says.

He'll be fine if he learns. He can't get better without acknowledging, being shown, or told what he's doing wrong in the first place.

He's a frickin rookie. He's doing very very well for a rookie QB. That's where I don't get the hate. He has room to grow and what do expect out of him.

He has exceeded anyone's expectations and way ahead of the learning curve for a rookie. That's where the hate is unwarranted, especially when people say he's costing wins.

Exactly.

I wish I lived in your reality. This isn't a circus dude. It ain't Broadway. it's not American Idol. And don't make me laugh about not relating to Panther fans. Panther fans like winning. They hate losing, but they don't hate their players. They might just hate their playing. Most people watch because they want to see their team win. Most people don't really give a poo about who is doing it as long as the team comes up with a win consistently.

To the "vocal minority" anyone that doesn't sugar coat poo is a hater and points out the problem is "hate". In case you haven't figure it out, you are part of the vocal minority. The majority of Panthers fans don't come to the Huddle. And most get sick of watching the team lose. Most leave the damn stadium before the game ends when we start getting blown out. The majority never lose focus of the main goal: Winning. Playoffs. Super Bowl. It's the whole point.

I can enjoy watching the Patriots win just fine make it every year and a few other teams when they're still alive at this time a year. But I'd rather it be the Panthers.

I just never understood why guys like you have to call everyone else "haters" because they might have a different view, which in this case also happens to be more in line with reality, than you do. There's a whole bunch of levels that go from blind fanatic like yourself to a hater. There's love, like, kind of like, indifferent, not my type, don't like, hate, like as a player, don't like as a person, like as a person, don't like as a player, etc, etc, etc.

There's a lot of gray that go between obsessed QB supporter and hater. And some people might like different aspects of the same players. Usually the more reasonable ones do. They like one thing, but can see the bad in another. Some even have a love/hate relationship.

Why do you think everyone that's doesn't go gaga over Newton, especially when he's screwing up and we're 2-7 is a hater?

Regardless of statdaddy's (pffl) reputation around here, this is a damn good post!

The guy is just a rookie who had no offseason to prepare. In my opinion he has had some ups and downs but you see something in him that is there that gives hopre for the future. he can control and lead an offense and seems to have the "it" factor great QB's have. I remember watching his first game and he immediately came in and looked like he belonged and was comfortable being there much unlike clausen last year who looked scared and timid so i have to say yes, he will be a solid QB and leader for this team. He has much room for improvement like every rookie does but he shows signs of working hard, intelligence, leadership, and also hating to lose so its all there. His first season hasnt been bad at all just being a rookie. The wins will come but its going to take more than just cam. Its going to take good coaching as well as smart playing from everyone. Cam shows plenty of potential already, id really like to see what he can do with an actual offseason of prep work and such.

Thats what happens when you win in spite of your QB instead of because of him.

Delhomme helped us win games as much as anybody in the glory days. Or have you forgotten all the fourth quarter comebacks?

Cam is on pace to be a great player but I don't get why you guys have to constantly bash former players and coaches as if that somehow shows you are loyal to Cam and the current coaching staff.
