Jason Campbell anyone?

Jake may not be great, he may be overrarted, but he knows our offense and fits our system.

Thats the key here... he may not be the best, but theres no use wasting higher round picks to draft someone to replace him. sure he gets injured, thats not the best situation, but you wont be finding a matt ryan anywhere in this draft.

Biggest Needs:

1.DL

2.QB

3.CB

4.Backup OL

I would put Backup OL above CB, unless you really just don't trust Marshall.

Nickle is really important, but Meeks may be able to use the guys we have and be effective in it.

Our OL always gets banged up, and we rely on our running game so much, it's very important to what we do. Our backups last year performed wonderfully, would be nice to keep some solid backups.

Its not like were set on keeping Peppers either..he could bring us more first day draft picks, at least two and with the money we would get from getting rid of Peppers we could fill holes easily... . A 2nd round pick for Campbell is a steal and maybe we can talk them down to a 3rd round (it is the Redskins) And speaking of following the Redskins, what have the Redskins done with Snyder that has been logical? not jack poo. So it would make sense for Snyder to dump their level headed QB they've been trying to develop for a QB with a big name, They buy everyone they see.. no offense to you once Redskin fans.

Use that mad face all you want, but you were the one calling someone a money for their opinion on something. I just decided to join in and play the game too. Manwithcake said monkeys out in general, he didn't direct it towards any one person, but you did.

I also understand that Jake is old and has a surgically repaired arm. His age will become a problem and we need to eventually find a replacement. Jake can still play for a few more years though and I like Matt Moore as his replacement. If we do go out and find someone else, I most definitely would not want Cutler and I don't want to give up our 2nd round pick for Campbell either. The arm proved not to be a problem. For all we know, his arm might even be BETTER next year.

Actually, he insinuated that my opinion made me a monkey - go back and read the thread.

I'm not sure why people on this board feel the need to attack other people's opinions? It's one thing to disagree, that's just fine - but why people have to resort to name calling and condescending attitudes I just don't understand. Don't run around assuming that you know more about football than someone else because you don't agree with them...

The thread is about Jason Campbell, it's my opinion that if Jason Campbell is going to fall into our lap for a 2nd round pick then we should take it, you disagree and that's fine - doesn't make you an idiot.

My concern is that any player at Jake's age is playing on borrowed time, I don't want to see us get into a situation where Jake falls apart and all we have is Matt Moore and Josh McCown. Matt Moore has shown flashes, but I'm not comfortable with naming him the QB of the future for us. McCown has had several opportunities at being a starter and he's a backup now, what does that tell you? We've had it so good for so long that we've forgotten how hard it is to find a decent QB. Campbell is better than any QB you could draft in the 2nd round right now because he's a proven commodity.

I don't think Campbell has had a fair shake in DC, he's had a different offense every year he has been there, no QB can thrive under those conditions. He's also not a good fit for the WCO and his big arm is wasted in that system. If the skins are dumb enough to part with this guy for a 2nd rounder we should be all over it.

Jason Campbell is not the guy. I cannot believe a majority of the fans here are like Cutler is not a fit here...now Jason Campbell!! He locks in on one to two recievers and misses open receivers......checks down on 4th and 15s to the halfback.

I see enough dumb QB play each Sunday already as a Panther fan..i do not need to see a younger version of that crap for years to come.

Sure is, his brother is a family friend. I have 6 signed rookie cards. I'm biased :o

Since the Cutler thread has run its course it is okay to hijack it. Fred Lane was a favorite of mine. He was a total underdog and made good. I couldn't believe he was killed by his crazy wife. He played with lots of heart. You aren't close to the wife are you?? In which case I won't give you my number or address.

    • I've watched and listened to several evaluations from the good ole youtubers.  From what I was able to watch, the first few drives before I left to do a job to the end of the game were very different for Bryce.  So he had a "good" game.  Which is great.  I love a win, period.  His WRs had some drops, thing ripped away, etc.  Not great, but a W is a W, right? I think the Panthers have to start Bryce.  You have to see if he continues to build on the good plays and make fewer and fewer bad plays.  No QB is going to play a perfect game.  But we need to continue to see Bryce make plays.  Does he have the ability to will his team to victory?  I'm not sure. I'm still in the Bryce is a backup QB camp.  I'm glad he had a good game, I glad we won, but I need to see more before we make a decision to keep or trade him.  Playing Andy literally does NOTHING to help you for the future.  Andy may not even resign with the Panthers.  We could be out both starting QBs by the time FA/Draft season hits. Ultimately, this is a Dan Morgan and Dave Canales issue.  Can they get value out of Bryce to help them improve the total roster?  Is there a FA QB who would be an upgrade?  A surprise cut or post season trade?  Or is there a QB at the top of the draft who they think they can mold into a high level starting QB?  I don't know. I do know I want to see more of Bryce Young and more out of him on the field.  I want to see the fire, the competitor come out.  I want him getting pissed.  I want him to grab his beanbag and tell us all he's the f'ing dude.  I just don't think we'll see that out of Bryce.  If not the fire, then let me see the ice - let me see the rattle proof dude who kills with accuracy and playmaking no matter how hot and crazy it gets.
    • Ickey at LT and Brady as Center / Swing position player is more valuable to our team IMO
    • That's fair but signing a veteran like Justin Fields to a one year deal and drafting defense with our first is always an option two.  I personally don't think these QBs this year are top 10 worthy selections
