I mentioned earlier in the thread that my wife and I both bought HTC Rezounds, and after having it for a couple of weeks it's really flying under the radar... this thing is fast as all get out and videos look incredible. Maybe it's just me, but I don't dig the super-saturated look of the AMOLED screens, and the RAZR display was definitely not as smooth as the Rezound.

Really like the Razr so far. One gripe is the TONS of bloatware they put on it. But at least you can hide apps you don't use. The 4G is absolutely sick fast. I got 18mbps down and 7mbps up the other night. Still learning it and setting it up the way I want.

I'll check that one out...

I tested a RAZR in the store and got about 4Mbps down and 15Mbps up, which I though was really weird.

Question for you catfang... on the Razr in the store, when we opened a website, you could see the desktop icons thru the browser app and it was quiet annoying.. does yours do that, is it a setting or something? Of course the Verizon sales rep didn't have a clue...

nope they must have had a setting for that. Transparency maybe? Funny I can't find how to change that on my phone (yet). I can't find settings for the home launcher either. Its pretty good, very smooth actually, but I'd like a little more customization. Stock for now, mabye ADW or Zeam later.

Yeah, we tried it on two different phones in the store??? They were both the same.

I like that Rezound... we got to check that one out now. My wife doesn't like the AMOLED screen "look" on the RAZR.

yeah I don't really see the big deal with the screens. Tech nerds argue for pages on the blogs about it (like the huddle lol). I didn't look at the rezound since I ordered online and saved $20. Probably more because I wasn't charged the stupid activation fee. But I've heard the rezound is a nice phone. And you get the beats yo. :D

I have a DSLR Canon if I'm looking to take super high-quality photos. The Nexus is going to be awesome to snap spur-of-the-moment shots of my daughter without missing the excitement due to shutter lag. That's all I require of my smartphone camera.

Hardware-wise it's easily the best phone on Verizon and just slightly outperforms the SGSII. It's running a dual-core 1.2Ghz OMAP 4460. The Rezound has a dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon which is older tech than the OMAP 4460, so although on paper it looks faster, IRL the Nexus will outperform it.

The only concern between the two is the quality of the LTE radios where HTC might have the edge in signal strength, but that should be correctable with an OTA update.

I don't think there's a transparency setting for the browser, IIRC. That sounds more like a bug with Motorola's GUI that runs on top of the Android OS.

The beauty of Nexus is vanilla Android without heavy processor and memory intensive "skins" like Motorola and HTC's Sense UI.

PS - None of this matters if they never release the fuging Nexus. I want my Ice Cream Sandwich goodness, Verizon!

Yeah, what's the freaking deal... the Verizon rep we talked to last Thursday said he knew when the release date was but couldn't tell... of course, he may have been full of poo.

I heard that there has been a lawsuit filed between Google and Verizon. Verizon wants to block the addition of Google Wallet on the Nexus, and supposedly that is against FCC regulations. (?). I can't post a link but go to Facebook and look up Android Fans and there is a story about it, or maybe one of the Android forums.

WTF does Verizon care about Wallet? Isn't that kind of like pissing in your own bed?
