Galaxy Nexus

So yeah, my OG Droid is finally dying a slow death. I miss tons of texts now. I get texts from Verizon people but not from others. Sometimes my texts don't even get delivered. Weird.

Anyway its pissing me off and my "discount" if I wait til 12/24 is $50. BS. I was on the phone with a Verizon store and they offer $50 discount on accessories so close to a wash there. The Nexus was originally supposed to go on sale tomorrow but its been delayed. She wouldn't give me a date (or couldn't). Tech nerd blogs say it might have something to do with an LTE outage in the northeast.

Anyway, might just bite the bullet and get the Razr this afternoon.

So we just left the Verizon store... the Nexus is delayed and they wouldn't tell us when it's coming in. Only thing he could say is "soon".

My wife is gonna get a new phone and give her X to my oldest son. She wants to wait and try out the Nexus... and it's either that or a iPhone 4s... she doesn't like the Razr.

Turns out i'm eligible for an upgrade too... but my company doesn't have the money right now anyway...

So we may be getting a Nexus next week.. we'll see.

I really didn't like the lack of sd card on the Nexus. Doesn't make sense, unless they have a better one in production for release early next year, ala Apple.

Then again the Razr doesn't have a removable battery.

Oh well. "on vehicle for delivery". Can't wait :D

Ive been interested in the nexus as well, however, Ive been hearing the galaxy s2 thats out now out performs it in most all the catagories...better hardware, better camera etc. Sounds like the only thing nexus has over s2 is a slightly larger screen, a curvy design and android 4.0. the android 4.0 is alot more significant in the difference, but s2 will be able to upgrade to 4.0 when it comes out. Im starting to think that in the long run, Id be better off with the s2. Has anyone else looked into this?

After reading more on that Nexus, I don't think it's the phone for my wife... too cutting edge.

I also don't understand why they put a 5MP camera in it and only 16MB of internal storage? That doesn't make any sense to me.

The logic behind the 5MP sensor is the zero-shutter-lag for the camera. No more missing the smiling baby because the camera took too long to snap the photo.

Also, the US LTE version is confirmed to be 32GB. That should be plenty of storage I would think (for most).

The Nexus outperforms the SGSII in benchmarks, ymmv though. But no doubt the SGSII is a badass phone. Verizon is my only viable wireless option where I live so I'm waiting for the Nexus.

Looking like the 15th now for release unless the fuger gets pushed back again. Gimme the damn phone Verizon!

Thanks, didn't know either of those things. Now if we could just get our hands on one to check it out...

Here's a review of the US version... basically they love it except the camera. The camera is fast but the quality is sub-par when compared to other, even older phones. The GSII is faster on most applications, but they say the Nexus is still very fast. Why doesn't Verizon carry the GSII?

All this talk has me wanting one... but I'm still very happy with my X and don't really want to spend the $300. If anyone sees them in Verizon stores post it... cause I want to go play with one.

galaxy nexus is way over rated.

the only thing I like about it is the 1GB video ram, videos will rock on that thing.

but the stuff I use more like the camera (id rather have a better quality pick that took me a couple tries than a less quality one that is easier) and browsing matters more to me. I got an Iphone but I wanted an android. problem was I was already using itunes, icloud and I had a nice $200 docking station already for my ipod. The 4s isnt bad, and there is so much poo you can buy for it, still it sucks hard as far as it's limitations.

I know the ICS operating system will be the poo but I know it will have bugs as usual with cutting technology. Maybe an android next contract.
