Wouldn't you think that MLB would want to keep one team National (Astros) and one team American (Rangers) in the state?

I don't see what's gained from moving the Astros to the American League.

It makes sense. It's all about money. Being in the AL means that the Astros will face the Rangers more often, and hopefully create a rivalry there, bringing more fans and revenue. Plus the central NL had too many teams as it is.

This is stupid. They are closer to the south/Atlanta then the effing west.

Seattle gets screwed big time by this.

I guess the silver lining is when my A's are in 3rd place, it's at least in a 5 team division.

It evens out both leagues and forces at least one interleague game every day. Goodbye to the four team AL west and the six team NL central. I don't have a problem with this at all.

Now if only the MLB could find a way to even up the competition and put all teams on an equal playing field.

Move Houston to NL West, Colorado/AZ to AL West.

Problem solved with a better solution.

I'd be pissed and asking for buttloads of compensation if I'm the Mariners. Their league worse travel schedule just got a whole lot longer.
