greg olsen and jeremy shockey say hi

Tell Shockey I said Hello! But Olsen was the product of a trade, not a FA. I maybe in the minority but I would trade 3-7 rounders all day long for proven young talent. There are reasons for teams letting players walk and yes, sometimes good players are a product of former team having viable replacement. General rule, good players are retained. As I say that, CJ waves.

I looked at this more of Rivera finally drawing a line in the sand. People got on him recently for being too soft.

Now he is basically telling them "jobs are on the line!" It isn't so much "Let's forget about this season" as it is "You guys better pick it the fug up or else you are going to be left behind"

I like it and it shows that Rivera isn't a pushover.

It's always ugly to have to renovate or rebuild something that already has a foundation. I walked into a Jersey Mike's yesterday that was getting renovated...I could still order my food but I'll be damned if the place didn't look like it wasn't fit for customers. They still made me a good sandwich, though.

I get as much anger as anyone after an ugly game, I make rash statements and I get straight up pissed off. But after a 24-48 hour calming period, I realize that this team isn't about today, it's about tomorrow.

Agree, by evaluation Rivera meant that nobody's job is safe... I think there are some guys giving questionable effort at this point, esp on ST, Rivera suggested that when he said something to the effect that he though we had the right guys out there, they just weren't doing the job.

I think Hines was an example of a guy who was not giving enough effort on ST.

Well if he is looking for an example of little to no effort he need look no further than Jason Baker on last week's tape.

Granted he is a punter, but christ, at least try to make a tackle. Don't just basically stand there and watch the guy run past you.

    • I loved this draft. I think we have 3 starters out our first three picks. Maybe they take a year to develop but I don’t see them taking long.    I think Etiene is going to be a good back up. He’s only 20 so he has a lot to improve on.  I think we will see him be used on special teams this year. He won’t get many reps unless an injury happens because we got two 1,000 yard rb in front of him. I could see Ransom starting but I think he will probably be a back up, maybe playing special teams? I think hes probably got the lowest ceiling of all our drafted players. Cam Jackson will be a back up, probably not a lot of snaps this year. Could end up being a solid player for us.   I love the Mitchell Evans pick. He’s got potential to be our top TE. He had two different injuries that set him back in college but I think if he was healthy he would have been one of the top TE in the draft. I have even more faith in him because ND makes great tight ends. I don’t know if he will play much this year unless an injury happens though. Probably just a blocking TE this year.
    • That's right, I don't remember Hardy but remember the Nails dude
    • Tet isn't Evens. He isn't as quick or uses his body as well, something Evans was known for in school. Tet catches well but he won't be the threat Evans is unfortunately IMO. It was like drafting Bryce and thinking your getting Wilson. Evans ran a 4.53 40, 7.08 3 cone, 4.26 shuttle and at the combine and not his proday. He was also 12 lbs heavier. If your expecting Evans your going to be disapointed unless you give Tet a bit of a discount on expectations IMO. Lol now it's saying they had Tet as a 4.48 at his proday when people were reporting 4.6+ at that time. It's going to be interesting to see what is real and what is BS. Proday numbers are so rounded in positive directions.
