I'm not taking the time to go back and look at the years, but typically you pick up a 2nd when u trade down in the 1st andddddd....

Bruce Nelson

Dwayne Jarrett

Keary Colbert

Eric Shelton

Everette Brown

Armanti Edwards (via 2nd round trade)

Jimmy Clausen

I mean you can do that with pretty much any teams draft picks. hurneys has some good third round picks though. James Anderson, charles Godfrey, Charles Johnson, Steve smith off the top of my head.

Ryan Kalil, Richard Marshall, and DeSean Foster were good second round picks. Steve Smith, Kris Jenkins, James Anderson, Charles Godfrey, Sherrod Martin, Brandon LaFell, Travelle Wharton, and Charles Johnson were 3s. But you're right, Marty hasn't turned every single pick he's ever had into a star, like all the GMs that never miss.

in espn rankings. Wow they left that bandwagon burning.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2011/week/11

i want the #1 pick so we can trade it and get immediate impactors.

Well, what do u expect when all ESPN and those who predicted Cam's failure as a QB is concerned about is Cam Newton playing. They don't seem too concerned about the rest of the team except for Smithy.

One bad outing and everyone is all doom and gloom and acting like Cam's career is almost over. Here's hoping Cam doesn't end up like Vick before the Panthers realize that they need to protect him the way the other teams go out of their way to protect their QBs. But I guess if the talking heads don't say it, it won't happen.

I want to see it the coaches on this team is going to chance their formula or is it going to be business as usual. Let's just have Cam do everything.

So you conveniently forget the one time Hurney traded back in the first and got an additional second rounder, that pick ended up being Ryan Kalil?

hurney totally whiffed on the last #1 overall pick we had

Cam was the perfect fit, the greatest pick and will be a great QB for us for a long time. If you regret drafting him you need to realize how much of a difference he will make down the road.
