If there was ever a time to trade down this is the year. We need as many draft picks as we can get our grubby little hands on and load up on the defensive side of the ball and shore up our special teams. We need a #2 receiver, but that can wait. Get this defense going and loaded with playmakers.

#1 pick doesn't mean a thing with Marty Hurney making the picks.

Marty hurney 1st round picks

2001- Dan Morgan

2002- Julius peppers

2003- Jordan gross

2004- Chris gamble

2005- thomas davis

2006- deangelo Williams

2007- Jon beason

2008- jonathan Stewart

2008- Jeff otah

2011- cam newton

yeah he sure does have a hard time getting good players when he's picking in the 1st rounder

2005- thomas davis - ACL

2006- deangelo Williams - Overpaid, under-producing

Agree 1000% (if that is possible).

Our depth is non-existent. It is paper thin. We need more NFL quality players on this roster. The best way to do that is to trade down.

Im not sure whether Morgan, davis and otah had injury problems in college at all and I don't feel like looking it up but if not there's no way anyone could of seen them having injury problems in the NFL and all of them are/were good players when healthy.

Morgan I'll give you, but Davis and Otah raise warning flags. Davis because he switched positions and Otah because of his size. We'll take Davis out of it because that was a decision made by coaching, not by management. So that is one out of three that should have been seen as "risky".
