So Delhomme would be a Pro-Bowler under the Air Coryell?

EDIT: As long as he had Smith, of course.

Delhomme already was a Pro Bowler in 2005 under Fox's run offense, the same year Steve Smith got a Triple Crown. And went to the Super Bowl. You, know the one that matters...the one that I hope my team gets back to again.

So yeah I'm sure he wouldn't have had a problem doing it in this either. So was Dan Fouts. The second to do it at the pro level with with Coryell's Chargers:

Some of his numbers and completion percentage:

1979 62.6 4082

1980 59.1 4715

1981 59.1 4802

And he was just an average passer too:

58.8 43040 80.2

But here's the difference in his QB rating.

Before Air Coryell:

46.0

61.4

59.3

79.4

77.4

Inside Air Coryell:

82.6

84.7

93.3

90.6

92.5

Most people would consider that an improvement. Amazing isn't it when you go from a bad passing offense to a good passing offense. College kids also do very good in it. Cause it's easy to run. And yes he made the Pro Bowl too. Coryell also did it when he coached the St. Louis Cardinals and Jim Hart, a 51% career passer and they had a moniker similar to ours: the Cardiac Cardinals. He too became a pro bowler under Air Coryell. So why wouldn't Delhomme be able to run it? Oh that's right only Cam can...because Cam's making Smith look good.

Dalton is Stafford 2.0, all his TD's are hail mary passes to AJ Green.

Our o-line better get their act together, if they perform like they did against the Titans Cam is in for a LONG day.

Considering Green has less than half of Dalton TDs, this can't be true.

I wasn't aware we went to the Superbowl in 2005

There's a period there Chef between the two sentences. If anyone doesn't know when the Panthers went to the Super Bowl, they need to go back to watching Auburn. Besides since when have Super Bowl starting QB's started going to the Pro Bowl?

So because a period is there that signals you are now talking about two different years without any mention of it?

Didn't realize I was talking about Cam. My mistake.

So, the year that Steve Smith had one of the greatest career years for any receiver in the history of the league, his quarterback went to the Pro Bowl. This backs up your argument that Steve Smith makes QB's look good, and I'm perfectly fine with that. It's no secret that most people on here believe that Delhomme's success was dependent on Smith's talent. And I'll agree with you that a large part of Newton's success is also dependent on Smith's talent.

I'll clarify my question. Jake Delhomme, particularly in the latter years of his career in Carolina, showed very little proficiency at spreading the ball around to receivers not named Steve Smith. Offensive design and personnel had a lot to do with this, but it was an offense designed around the strengths of Jake Delhomme so I believe that balances out. Do you think that Delhomme would be able to overcome that in an Air Coryell system well enough to earn a Pro Bowl berth?

It suck's but living in Detroit I've had the pleasure of watching this sad franchise for the past decade...Well this season there ok at best! Everyone want's to give them respect in Detroit, but I've been saying there going to collapse for a long time now...Here's a little bit of what to expect come sunday.....

Personally, It tickles me that it sucks for you to live in Detroit. F-ing Idiot. Hey, here is a suggestion. Get your parents to move back where you came from. Because it is obvious from your grammar, you missed out on the Michigan educational system.

As for your assessment of the Lions. Did you just cut and paste that from a Drew Sharp article? I find it hard to believe someone of your limited abilities came up with that all on your own.

Interesting you'd stick up so hard for the Lions. Almost as if you are a fan of them. I don't take too kindly to other team's fans 'round these parts, and I've been waiting to unload a fury of neg upon them soon as I find one. I'm tired of negging PF4L, looking for a good chump to neg.
