Are They Really Losing Faith?

Watching GB/MIN game

We was close with GB and was cheated out of a couple of TD's. We didn't play good against Min and got embarrassed by Ten. GB making Min look like amateurs

But I look back and this team doesn't look the same like in week 2. I know we're injury riddled but like Cam said you gotta play with some type of pride. Seeing how the D gave us chances to get back in it, if I was Chud I would have hopped my ass out of the box and went right to the sidelines to try to get some things going, some motivating

This team is just waiting for failure. When adversity happens we are seeing this team come apart at the seams because its just happened so much and we have been on the losing end. I am also starting to wonder about Rivera's leadership.

Yea about 3 weeks ago ppl started to mention Rivera and I downplayed it

But I am too. I hope didn't quit on him. I know, I know... losing makes things worse

It may be unfair, and it could be selective memory, but I can't remember seeing Rivera doing anything to try to raise spirits when things have gone badly.

Every team hits rough spots. It is incumbent on the leaders to pick the team back up. When things have gone badly for us, I see Rivera with his stoic look on the sideline, Cam pissed at himself on the bench, Smitty ready to put a beating on someone, etc. What I don't see is anyone giving encouragement and pointing out that they can turn it around with a positive attitude.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the same thing?

The truth is Rivera never expected Cam to play this well this fast, so he was already prepared to use this as a trash year. It explains the play calling in the first 4 games.

I think you are right. JR, Hurney and RR had as a primary objective Cam's development, not winning games specifically. RR has stated this on more than one occasion.

Then Cam comes out and starts to light it up. Players want to win and could care less about long-term development. So there is a disconnect between the FO plan and the players objectives. Rivera is trying to walk a fine line now, keeping the players fully engaged while not losing sight of the original objective. That is why he is always talking about managing expectations. If your only expectation is to win each and every Sunday, there is no reason to worry about managing perceptions.

All of this makes it very tough for everyone to keep it together. It seems like a minefield to me, but it's JR/Hurney/Rivera's team and they have to do what they think is best for the franchise.

I hope they can negotiate this without major problems because they do run the risk of it blowing up in their faces.
