Why does Byron Bell still play?

I am absolutely convinced most of you don't pay attention and just assume most of what you know.

Bell has done decent for a UDFA, and didn't play too bad today. Most of te pressure came through the interior.

And seriously, Ziemba? Lol. The guy was horrid in the little time he got. The two series he put up againt Atlanta a few weeks back were probably worst individual performance I've seen by a player on this team in a long time.

Why don't you actually try watching what happens before you make ridiculous statements like this?

Tell me your thought process didn't go like this before creating this thread.

"Lol OL was bad today. Bell with penalty? Derp he suks it's all his fault!"

I have proven a few of those people certainly base most of their opinions on assumption..

majority of this forum is guilty of that.. it isn't just a theory, it's a fact.

It's a fact that I think it's funny to see how many people defend Rivera left and right and then go to other threads and criticize his decisions without ever bringing his name up. :)

I would say he's (Bell) is doing about what I expect. He's a rookie who would normally be a practice/rotational player. The penalties are very discouraging, but defenses game plan this type of stuff as far as attacking the least experienced player on our offensive line.

Thing is we're so beat up, he was all we had left. The Wharton to RT and Bell inside "sounds" like a good idea, but one would have to wonder how much that move could affect the overall chemistry of the OL, which for the most part has protected Cam well all season.

It's easy to point out his penalties especially on a bad day, but he isn't the reason we were losing 30-3 at the final whistle. CJ had a personal foul on what would've been a 4th and 13, I believe Anderson had a roughing the passer penalty (hand to helmet) on another potential 4th down stop. So just because he's a rookie and unproven he shouldn't start, when we likely don't have a better option (which I'm sure a professional coaching staff has potentially considered).

Personally I'm more upset with the staff for not doing a better job at eliminating these penalties, also I'm frustrated with the players for not executing, and maintaining composure. But this blame deserves everyone's attention, and we shouldn't single out a rookie UDFA who was "forced" to be a starter, when he should have been in a developmental year.

Seriously I can't believe this fat piece of trash is still playing. Can Wharton not move to tackle and at least put this slug at guard where he isn't facing a pass rush on every down.

i couldn't agree more. maybe it's not fair to expect a lot out of an undrafted free agent, but i expect it to be on #77 every time that a flag is thrown in the general area of a hold....and it usually turns out that that's the case.
