Why does Byron Bell still play?

Guess you missed where he got another drive killing penalty today. 15 yards hands to the face. I was at the game so I wasn't able to see how many times he got torched resulting in newton sacks but I'm sure it was a lot.

wasn't that when we were down 30-3 with about 2 minutes left in the 4th?

Yes....yes... by this logic get rid of Olsen for fumbling in the red-zone when we were down 7-0 (something far more costly)

No this was either when we were down 17-0 or 23-3 can't remember which. It likely didn't matter in the grand scheme but who knows. It's more troubling bc it happens every week.

I am absolutely convinced most of you don't pay attention and just assume most of what you know.

Bell has done decent for a UDFA, and didn't play too bad today. Most of te pressure came through the interior.

And seriously, Ziemba? Lol. The guy was horrid in the little time he got. The two series he put up againt Atlanta a few weeks back were probably worst individual performance I've seen by a player on this team in a long time.

Why don't you actually try watching what happens before you make ridiculous statements like this?

Tell me your thought process didn't go like this before creating this thread.

"Lol OL was bad today. Bell with penalty? Derp he suks it's all his fault!"

No, the game was 0-17 iirc.

And Olsen has won us a game before, and when he's on his mark, he's one of our better players. (The stats speak for it self)

Bell, however, is not one of our better players. And easily replaceable.

It's easy to get frustrated with Byron with these penalties but I try to maintain the perspective here. It'd be one thing if we were a very well-disciplined team and he was the only one not catching on. The whole team is making stupid penalties, including ones today on 67 and 69. Byron's got to step his game up but so does everyone else and he doesn't deserve to be singled out.

Sorry, but he does deserve to be singled out.

He has 11 penalties on the year. That is nearly twice as many as any other Panther (Naanee has 6, no one else has more than 5).

I like Bell. He is doing the best he can. He is just not good enough yet to be a starter in this league.

Bell is to heavy footed to play tackle. It's not his fault, it just looks like his feet are stuck in cement.

He has way too many penalties, and I counted at least 2 sacks that was his fault.

Cat'sGrowl - Stop acting like you're the only one with football knowledge that's watching the game. Bell held his own against Greenbay and Clay Matthews, but that's about it.

my point was you can't define a player with one play.....especially an O-lineman

both gross and kalil had penalties today too. The offense line as a unit did not have a good day in pass protection

It wasn't just one play though.

Bell's been giving up key penalties all year long.
