Peter King list Carolina among teams that may be interested in Cutler

Rock Hoover just said we are the team he thinks that is the most complete and who he thinks Jay could make an immediate splash with...as in superbowl contender splash

But, would you give Peppers and Delhomme for Cutler? I would not.

maybe we are a little better at QB, but we have a huge hole on the defense and got nothin gin the way of players or picks to compensate for that loss.

Offense may be a little better....but defense is much worse. Therefore, overall team is not better after this deal.

offense would be much better and the d line would not be much worse than last year in my opinion. We could fix it in the second and try to outscore people. The truth is that the have been nursing jake along for years hoping to build an untopable defense and running game and saw that lst year, even when they get close, he can still blow it for the team single-handedly. Maybe a slight change in philosophy IS in order.

Still not the best move and I hope they do not do it but I don't see 2003 stats and jakes locker room leadership slowing down the people who actually have a voice and get paid to have one. Except for Darin Gantt of course and he is, well he's pretty much worthless.

Well, you just proved to all of us that you are clueless. You think our exisiting DL without Peppers would not be much worse? Please for the love of God stop talking.....you continue to set the bar lower and lower.

It's not like they used theguy off the edge all season last year. If he was a dominate DE the phone would be ringing. We would be worse but not completely porous. Our d line would be young but not completely inept. I don't recall Peppers stopping too many game winning drives last year or making a dominating play every other sseries. I don't recall him getting doubled too much nor do I recall him making amazing plays in coverage when those idiots dropped him.

While he is great, the way we used him he is replaceable.

Why is that so hard for you to understand?

Replaceable with who? You think Brayton...or Johnson...Taylor?

a combination of the three, somebody off our PS, off somebody else's practice squad, a second round pick?

I did not get us into this mess and you are talking about Peppers as if there is a possibility he still will be here or that somebody is going to give us something for him.

Nothing better than Culter has come up. In my opinion Cutler won't come up without giving more for him than just Peppers. We already have to replace Peppers. It may be next year before we really can. In the meantime we may be well served to energize the offense and get in a few shootouts until the dline can be patched up with some quality.

The fact remains that we may NEVER get another freak like Peppers again EVER. He is once in a lifetime if that. He is gone. come to grips. Jay cut is much better than a 2nd round draft choice any day of the week.

Didn't realize you were Marty Hurney's secretary and taking the phone calls. The revelations I've learned on this board today are extraordinary.

Try not to be such a smart ass. i doubt you are even fooling yourself.

That statement was not literal and in fact i don't have to be a secretary to tell you that its not ringing because Carolina can not discuss any trades at this point.

If they could they would be in the press and starting rumors every day. Desperation set in about two weeks ago.

they are screwed and they know it. They have no cards left and the last one they played was the asshole card. the panthers look stupid.

If you believe that there aren't any potential trade discussions going on that aren't public to get around the NFL's rules, then you're more naive than I thought. I suppose you also believe that free agent deals that are announced 15 minutes after free agency begins were negotiated within that 15 minute window and not behind the scenes beforehand.

No, they wouldn't be in the press talking about it because they're not dumb enough to use that method and out themselves in breaking a written NFL rule.

Who is Rock Hoover and why should I give a poo about what he thinks?

Schlereth. That's the character name of his soap character. I don't watch soaps but he is always razzed about that on M & M , etc, that's how I know. I don't think he realizes how bad the Cats defense played down the stretch though since he thinks Carolina is more complete than Minny.

I liked Dilfer's opinion the best. He thinks there are three components to being a QB and Cutler has proven to have only one: potential.

Don't always agree with him, but Dilfer is becoming one of their better commentators.

I think you are over exerting yourself X. Firstly they cannot discuss anything with anyone about a trade, including one for Jay Cutler. This means that any potential suitor knows that Peppers has not been briefed about the conversation prior as to not tip the hat and any trade talk is seen as a waste of time because the tradee is not in agreement.

They would be in the press IF THEY COULD...as I stated.
