Word in from Denver on what it would take to complete Cutler Trade.

In the meantime, the Broncos have informed all interested teams that they want at least two first-round picks for Cutler and getting a quarterback in exchange is not a necessity, Chris Mortensen reports. A team source said it was possible Cutler could be traded as soon as Friday.

well then that there says a lot about you...frankly Scot, I'm disappointed.

and as far as the argument goes, what is yours?

jake had a bad day and he took us to the superbowl?

that seems to be everybody else's here.

Don't belittle what you are doing yourself Mr. Scot. It may sound good but it makes you look real dumb.

Disappointing someone who knows as little about real football as you seem to doesn't exactly bother me

All your posts are reacive. It's pretty clear you don't have the knowledge to make an argument outside of "I like this guy, but I don't like that guy". You've also thrown in your fair share of insults to detract from the fact that you don't have the football knowledge to keep up with P55.

As to the logic, Delhomme knows the system, he's been a winner here, the coaches support him, the players support him, his style fits perfectly into what John Fox wants in a quarterback, the position isn't a high priority for the braintrust right now, this year isn't a good one for finding QBs at either level, Cutler is all potential at this point and could well turn into the next Jeff George, and we're short on picks with other needs to fill.

Bottom line: It ain't happening.

Two 1st's? They are dreaming. And if they are not dreaming, Daniel Snyder is an idiot. I only say that because Al Davis is the only other owner dumb enough to pull the trigger on that, and he has a lot invested in Jamarcus "My Helmet Won't Fit Because Of These Huge Earrings" Russell.

I was just listening to Adam Schein and Solomon Wilcox on Nfl Sirius and they said it would take 2 1sts and nothing less. They said that three teams would jump at the opportunity. They mentioned Washington, Tampa and the Jets as very interested who all would give up 2 1st in a heartbeat.

I personally think they are crazy but the owners are billionaires so they must be doing something right.

This makes Montsta VERY bitter. But agreed. I think pre-knee surgery Tom Brady is about the only player in football I'd give up 2 1st's for, but I also worried about trading back into the first last year to get Otah initially, so that shows the extent of my Draft Day knowledge.

You werent alone. This board lit up with complaints feeling we were giving too much for Otah. I even remember when folks were saying we got the 19th pick and would be giving up a top 10 pick this year. So it is always easy to see things in the rear view mirror. The same with Cutler. If he turns out to be the next Tom Brady everyone will extols his virtues and will call the owner who spends for him a genius.

If he turns out to be Jeff George, then it will go down as a huge bust on the order of Hershel Walker. If he is somewhere in between it will be much like our pick up of Sean Gilbert.

and your opinion on the topic is not very impressive to me..at all

As to the logic, not a big deal, been being the operative word, because they have to, because they have to, John Fox wants more than Jake..trust me, I doubt you are 100% right about this, A great QB just presented himself and it looks like the shuffle for him could flush out almost anybody, Jake's upside is less than Jeff George's disappointment

I already know it ain't happening. READ MUCH ?

the appalling comments I objected to were that if it did it would be a mistake..which is utterly ridiculous and borderline unbelievable

That made about as much sense as a fever dream.

While we're at it though, you've been a vehement proponent of simply letting Peppers walk rather than trying to trade him based on the fact that he's disgruntled and doesn't want to play here anymore.

If you want to be consistent, you should also be arguing that the Broncos should simply drop Cutler rather than having him sit there, cause drama and leave Denver uncertain about their QB position.

My guess is you'd probably say that'd be a stupid thing for Denver to do. And it would be, same as letting Peppers go with nothing in return would be.

Unless of course, we buy into your way of thinking

you should stay off the peppers issue scot. everytime you try to compare it to womething else you end up trying to convince us of something very untrue.

take your latest stab in the dark concerning the Cutler situation and peppers. I think you could convince us all that 2+2=5 before anybody would buy into that. Maybe you side with 55 so easily because you are in fact just as simple-minded as he is. You guys fail to see past the surface of anything and cling to things you can look up on NFL.com to make your opinions for you. I always thought you were different but your latest brain-dead announcement has finally convinced me.

chew on this:

Cutler is in a contract, Peppers is not

Peppers refused more money, Cutler did not

Cutler wants to be a Bronco, Peppers does not want to be a Panther

Cutler has a market, Peppers does not

Cut is having a spat with his boss, Peppers only has a problem with being a Panther

and the big one..

Cutler can be traded at any time, with anybody and Cutler is in no position to hold the team hostage because he ha an obligation to Denver. Peppers does not have an obligation at all. He has fulfilled his contractural duties and is now being victimized by a VERY stupid rule in the current CBA that he is taking a proud stance against with his silence and his refusal to cooperate.

NOT EVEN CLOSE brain-trust

Actually I would tend to believe the Owner over Cutler in this situation, The owner has phone records of trying to get into contact with Cutler......So Cutler does not in fact want to be a Bronco, he's just trying to save face.

Second, There's already been a discussion on this, It's been noted by players that are in contact with Peppers that he would be willing to come back to the Panthers. So wrong on both counts.

You can't prove that Peppers doesn't have a market, no one but Carey and Peppers can prove that. It's already been noted that if he goes he goes for a first plus.....

No one knows why Peppers wants out, It could've been something as simple as not liking Trgovac or him not liking Fox...... No one but Peppers can say that he never wants to play for the Panthers again...... We just Don't know why he wants out.

Cutler could hold up trade talks, he could refuse to play with the new team. (kinda like Lucas did earlier this off season) He could ask for a new contract that is so ridiculous it holds up talks...... So again wrong on that count too. Because Cutler can hold up trade talks with the Bronco's and another team.

pretty flimsy carp.

you think the two situations are the same? Do you.

I don't see a guy that dturns down a big contract, plays all year, requests out and gives the Panthers 4 teams he will go to as someone who wants to play and if its not about money its personal. So while I don't know what it is, I know it's solid.

Anybody can hold up negotiations but not like peppers is right now. We can't even get him in the news to see what's out there.

I cannot prove that there is no market but I know one rumor has hit the fan for Peppers in over a month and a dozen teams how interest in Cutler overnight whenthe broncos finally caved. That's enough for me

Cutler is saving face according to your opinion. We can only go by what these guys do and say. He had no problem in Denver prior to getting lied to...Peppers probably eyed his exit long ago when he turned down the extension that would have made him the highest paid D player in the league.

I have not heard peppers say he would come back and don't give a poo what his teammates who obviously want him back say.

you tried hard but like I said...flimsy

No I attacked only four points in your post they are in bold if you would like to read them.

We can go by what the Owner says, who tried to fix his HC's mess by trying to contact Cutler and make things all right..... It didn't work, He says I'm done in Denver.... You said he liked it in Denver and Liked his team mates. If he actually did like his team and teammates then when the Owner tried to reach out to him, he would've at least responded, but he didn't.

A trade hold up is a trade Hold up, they both have the same power. They can refuse to play for any team they don't want to play for. Cutler will have a final say in to what team he goes to. The only differences here is that Cutler actually has a real agent and peppers does not and "Carolina can't talk to other teams. " (which if you can't tell, teams don't follow those rules, they just don't let anyone know they don't follow them. Just look at the FA period.)

So you don't give a poo about the player on our team, that talks with Julius Peppers regular says........He probably has about just as a good of insight on this as anyone but Peppers and Carey..... ( who aren't going to say publicly that they want to come back to the panthers. 1. They want Peppers to play in a different scheme/system. 2. They aren't going to come out and say they would like to come back to the Panthers in there situation, it would just be stupid.)

You proved my points for me, so they proved to be pretty solid wouldn't you say.........

you're not even close. point one about Cut and the owner and his teammates is more flimsy than before. None of that conclusion jumping you did makes any sense at all.

yes, i agreed with what you said about Cut holding up a trade because that is common sense. He cannot however keep them in the dark. They can publicly shop him to all 31 teams every day if need be and begin finding a common ground. not so in Charlotte

Gross's quote....bank on it if you want to. I'm not. The truth is that if Gross hadn't signed Pep could have gotten what he wants so I doubt Gross and pep are the best of friends right now anyway.

you are building a high-rise of bullshit on some of the most whacked-out and incorrectly drawn conclusions I have seen since 55 last posted.
