Fox Ball

Somewhere, Fox has been having an orgasm for nearly 48 hours now. He can't believe this is working. You know Fox hates having to gameplan around a QB, but he loves being able to run so much. Frankly, the only reason it has been successful is because of the ways the Raiders & Chiefs played it - they didn't play the run. It was bad gameplanning.

Go back and watch those games, neither team stacked the box all game long.

I have to think this is like the wildcat. Eventually, a competent D-coordinator will give the Broncos O a beating and everyone else will borrow that gameplan.

why do people keep emphasizing this as if not being terrible is a good thing in the NFL

at least half the teams every single year finish 7-9 or better. big fuging deal if fox can get to it.

Well if you just look at stats you might reach that conclusion but take into account that Fox went 7-9 after taking over a 1-15 team and went 7-9 in the season after the SB after losing a few all pro players and other starters early in the season and having started something like 1-7. Then look at the year Delhomme went down due to the assault by Tommy John and with a variety of QBs he again managed to get the team to around .500.

He's not Bill Belichek but he's done a solid job of making his teams competitive year-in and year-out. Last year was an anomaly.

This year he's taking over another team coming off a really lousy year and has them in position to win the division. I

? because he isn't terrible. I never said he was great. Broncos are on pace for a close to 500 year - by definition that is an average coach
