im a redgaurd lvl 3 right now

Best to use a shield and a one handed weapon. Focus on connecting with power swings(hold down the trigger). When things get hairy, burn that mother with your magic. I use light armor so i can move swiftly and avoid long range weapons.

Just got the game on the 15th .. I have now a level 14 Wood Elf with Level 50 archery and level 50 sneak ( easy way to get sneak is to just sneak to all your destinations for awhile.) Just took out my 4th dragon also.. this game is teh awesome sauce. For those that like archery .. in the companion house in the sleeping quarters there is a display case with a master lock that has an elven bow in it .. save your game and pick this lock .. you'll thank me later.

As for the books...if it's worth around 50 gold, it will probably level you up in something. Any cheaper, screw it.

What ncsu said .. books around 50 are auto level in something .. also keep an eye out for books with a series .. if you read all volumes ( by read i mean just open ) sometimes you get either a map marker or a level in something random .. as well as there are also books to keep an eye out for in castles that can give you tips on how to kill things like giants , mammoths and trolls. One of which i found in dragonsreach that explains the best way to kill a troll is kite it with fire.

find cover and shoot at it when it pauses in the air .. it may take awhile .. but at a lower level that is your best bet.

I gave up my axes when I did a mission and got some redguard scimitars. Dual wielding those, they're so awesome.

I always seem to level slow. How do you get to 15 and only kill 4 dragons? I'm 15 and have probably killed about 20-25. Right now I have 6 dragon souls with nothing to use them on.
