Being a werewolf makes some parts laughable that would otherwise be brutally insane. I killed an entire fort full of Tholmor agents solo in beast form for one quest.

A friend of mine went the vampire route, which apparently grants passive abilities in addition to some powers. From what he's told me, though, being a werewolf is generally a better idea for warrior builds.

Being a vampire in oblivion was usually more trouble than it was worth, but was still pretty cool. I don't think going the werewolf or vampire route would be very good for me playing a straight mage, so I'll save those 2 for later. I'll probably avoid the thieves guild and the companions for my first play though actually.

redguard, level 6. Breton was my next choice but I love the extra athletics and adrenaline rush.

Do you guys know any easy ways to level up? I've just been doing the story missions, haven't joined any groups. Any cool places to treasure hunt? good swords, armor?

Smithing is an easy way to level up - but I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to. Just use the skills you want to level up in and you'll get there in no time.

I'm a level 13 Breton mage. Eventually going to use a bound bow (when I get level 50 conjuration and can buy it), but I've invested time in Enchantment, Alteration, Destruction and Restoration too. Very magic heavy.
