You have to look down at the word when Wulfgar places it on the floor, make sure it encompasses your screen, and it should say Word of Power Learned, Force Unrelenting, etc.

Then, goto your menu, goto shouts, equip it, then use it.

Tried that. Must be a problem with my game. Thanks for the help.

not everyone is having those issues with it. but its a large enough portion to where i just stay away from bethesda

ask salty, when i got him to play dcuo when it launched f2p a month ago, it was unplayable, 4000 player queues, crashing, sometimes the game wouldn't load. it was totally fuged, a broken ass piece of poo.

they fixed all those bugs and issues in three days.

they aren't "writing code as fast as they can" or "trying to fix everything"

someone already said that they were leaving in humorous glitches that weren't "game breaking"

well, when you allow enough humorous glitches into code, big nasty glitches will start happening.

i really really really really wanna like elder scrolls, but i can't

and when i tried to warn people away from it, i was accused of trolling, when all i wanted to do was save someone a headache.

That's not really issues with the coding or design of DCUO. It had been out for a year, and it played just fine. The game had the same code written, the only thing they did was add stability to the servers. The load on the shards was something that hadn't prepared for, and it bit them in the ass.

Skyrim is completely different. Skyrim is a single player game where the problems with the game are in the design, not necessarily the code. The game is so expansive, that there's bound to be problems processing all of that information, which causes screen freezes and crashes.

we're talking about a game where thousands of people play together with pvp and quest instances simultaneously vs a game where one person plays by themselves the entire time

as far as content, dcuo has easily triple what skyrim has. don't fool yourself.

long queues are a server issue, but crashing, and frozen loading screens are code glitches. they managed to handle both within 72 hours.

skyrim has code and design issues. dcuo has code and design issues. but one of them is more likely to be fixed.

poo i got a free content update on a 10$ game last week with more fixes and updates than skyrim will see in its entire lifetime, dlc included

i know exactly why. its hard to beat off to desperate housewives or glee when you have hardcore porno

only bad thing about swtor is the p2p aspect of it but during the beta tests I didnt really encounter any massive glitches and the ques werent all that bad either.

this was with probably hundreds of thousands of people on at the same time.

im stoked.

whats funny is im so engrossed with swtor i havent even touched skyrim.

I stopped playing when I was playing swtor beta and now that its over I cant go back to skyrim..I dunno why..

Ha, I'm kind of the same way. Although I think I kind of burnt myself out on Skyrim playing it so much. I did the same thing with Mount and Blade - played it a poo ton for 2 weeks and haven't touched it since. It probably doesn't help that I already completed the main quest and my char is almost unstoppable.

I wasn't saying that DCUO has less content than Skyrim. Of course DCUO has more content, that's fairly obvious.

The majority of problems from DCUO came during their conversion to f2p, where they gained an estimated 1 million new players (according to Massively). That causes server balancing issues, which will freeze screens and crash the clients to desktop. (I'm a networking student with an emphasis on Data Center architecture, trust me, I know.)

Which, is fairly obvious since the problems didn't come until the f2p switch over. (I played DCUO before the f2p switch, and there were hardly any crashes, glitches, freezes, etc. reported)

There are problems with Skyrim, but, honestly, I haven't encountered many on 360. I've experienced three freezes 75 hours in, and only two huge glitches, which both came during the opening scene. I haven't had this myriad of problems that other people have had. Either I'm lucky, or the severity of the problems with Skyrim have been greatly exaggerated.

so they managed to expand server capacity with just a hotfix?

During the normal restarts for both EU (4 AM GMT) and US (4 AM PT) there will be a small hotfix. Downtime is anticipated to be less than one hour. Players may notice the following changes:

Priority Queueing for Legendary and Premium players is now available.

Legendary Players will have the fastest queue time.

Players should no longer experience lengthy respawn timers in the Arena.

Cooldown timers should no longer exceed their expected refresh time.

Players should no longer experience problems zoning within a zone and get the "Zone Unavailable" message.

holy poo i better go download moar ram!

all of these issues occured on the f2p launch and hadn't existed beforehand. server capacity attributed to longer queue times, but just about everything else was from vast amounts of glitchy code bubbling to the surface with an increase of 120k players in 4 days.
