This thread and the last episode of Jimquisition have got me seriously considering buying this, but as such I need to know: why is the game so glitchy and crash-prone? Is it simply because of its size?

the glitches in this game have been severly exaggerated and as for the random crashes it happens once maybe every 10 hours of gametime if it even happens at all. go buy the game you wont regret it

I get a crash every 1 to 2 hours if I don't use a user created MOD for PC. Other than that though, really no problems..every once in a while I'll wonder into a building and the floor and roof are invisible lol.

lol those hoarding shots remind me of what I did in Fallout 3... I'd fill a corner of my house with stacks and stacks of pre-war money, and then I had a lawn gnome army outside my door... like 50+ lol... all standing and watching...

I've got it for 360, have 30+ hours in, and have only crashed once. The only time I actually crashed, I was quitting to main menu, and it froze. (Also could have been an Xbox problem, I have an old 360, and it could've easily been too hot.)

I've never experienced any gamebreaking glitches, either. I have seen hilarious stuff like an Elk spawn a few hundred feet in the air and start falling. But that's about it.

I have 50+ hours, never crashed. There is only one glitch that has fuged me up, it's a big one though. I can't buy a house in Makarth, thus I cannot become the king's thane. Something about the order of the quests I did them in, I am reading many people are having problems and are waiting. There is also a myth going around you can marry Lydia (even in the strat guide) which is a lie that is not true. Which suck cause I was holding out to bang her now I am just going to bang the hot but rude skank bitch from the dark brotherhood quests....anyways yea that glitch sucks and they need to get it fixed so I can be thane for all cities.

To even ask if this game is worth buying, even with all the bugs is kind of moronic, sorry.

I have had crashing issues on my PS3. I have been playing the poo out of this game and every couple of days it either locks up or begins to load after a fast travel and never comes back. It is frustrating but I save every 15-20 minutes anyway

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
