I'm seeing so many dragons it's starting to get annoying. I constantly have 15-20 unused souls.

It's starting to get bad for me too. Not so much the challenge of them, because they're fairly easy fights for me now, but the fact that they keep killing my quest NPCs and other annoying issues forcing me to go back to a prior save.

Dragons fly around me in circles for a couple secs then fly off most of the time. I think they see my Mace of Molag Bal and say fug that

I was rocking heavy armor and two handed greatswords before I got that mace, now I'm thinking of rocking all one handed with some light armor. That mace is so badass it's not even fair.

where do you get it?

Go to Markoth(sp?) and walk up the stone stairs to the left and some guy in a hoody will ask you if you have seen anybody go into the house that he is standing next to. Tell him you will help him and watch his back into the house and proceed to do the quest called "House of Horrors" and you'll get it at the end of the quest. It is frickin awesome, and the mace is super badass glowing green mace of death. It's so badass that if you have it equipped when you walk through town people actually comment on it like "uhh, keep that thing away from me!" It's the poo.

Most of the Deadric and The Deadric weapons are Ebony or a variation of it, to upgrade the Mace you need 1 ebony ingot.

Update after 75 hours of play. I've completed the main quest and the College quest line, done 7 Dark brotherhood quest, 4 civil and 4 deadric, just start the thieves guild and companion questlines. 97 Misc objectives, 55 total quest and over 200 locations found. Level 40 Nord Warrior. The amount of stuff to do is amazing, I've only completed or cleared 52 of the 100+ dungeons and haven't even found everything yet as well. That's not counting the locations that are in the game that don't show up on the map and have a Misc quest involved there. That amount of content that's both scripted and not scripted is just stupid. lol

As for the game itself... Combat improved.... check, quest lines improved.... check, story improved for the most part... check. interface improved.... check "unless your using mouse and keyboard on a PC, then no check.

After grabbing a few perks and upgrading the skills, the combat is noticeably improved over Oblivion and Morrowind. Most of the Quest writing is fantastic and much better then the older Elder scrolls games, the rest of the writing fits in with what you'd expect from the ES games. The magick system in regards to actually attacking and using magic in combat is greatly improved. "I really like the different spell in each hand or combining the same spell to make it more powerful, don't think you should be able to use magic at all in any RPG with out at least one free hand from now on." The level scaling is still there and is still noticeable, but nothing like it was in Oblivion. Rats and Wolves are still well Rats and wolves. lol Dragon battles are a bit anticlimactic though as they aren't that tough for the most part, especially after you get that landing shout. The rest of the enemies are fairly balanced.

The glitches are to be expected, it's a sandbox, open ended RPG. They always have glitches, I don't care who makes the damn game.

Can't wait to see the rest of the game and see how many locations I haven't unlocked as I have nothing else better to do while my Disability goes through.

That's weird, when you try to upgrade it does it show any other materials needed? I would probably save and restart the game. Then see if it allows you to do so then.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
