Record under GM Marty Hurney by the numbers

This team is rebuilding. It sucks, and it's not fun to watch losses week after week, but we pretty much knew coming into this season we weren't real playoff contenders. Today that fact came home, big time. But that doesn't change the fact that this team is building toward something long term.

But who? Can you name one? If the team takes your advice and fires Hurney, they'll have to hire a new GM. So who should it be? Who's done a better job of drafting and signing than Hurney? If they lose a game by 30 next year, will you call for that guy to be fired?

Did I bring up Hurney's record today or did I bring up his record since 2002, since 2006, since 2009, and 2010? This is a long time coming not just today.

And I don't know the slightest clue about available GM candidates. But there has to be someone out there that can assemble a team that can win more than Hurney can.

Whose fault is it that we're having to rebuild and where do you see the rebuilding paying off outside of #1?

considering Fox was trying to save his job and traded away the Panthers future.. I'd say Fox had a HUGE hand in where we are today.. along with Marty's help of course..

DTs have been improving, which should pay off when our linebackers are back.

As to whose fault it is we're rebuilding, it's a mix of things, but it was JR's call to "win now" a few years ago when he had Fox and yeah.

This, though JR pushed that as well.

What did Fox do exactly? Stunt Armanti's growth? Yeah you totally got me, if only Armanti was decent, this team would be kicking ass right now. That's it.

you are assuming he has to have a contract to get paid.. if you bothered to actually be a fan of this team instead forming your opinions based around assumptions, you would know he said he'll work for JR and the Panthers as long as JR wanted him around and will not sign a contract..

Name a GM in the NFL who you can prove does NOT work under a contract.

If by rebuilding paying off you mean good young players, I think Stewart, Olsen, Gettis, Kalil, Johnson, Hardy, Beason, Godfrey, Martin and obviously Newton will be big parts of this team for the forseeable future. I think the same might be true of Byron Bell, Hogan, LaFell, and McClain, although it's too early to tell on those guys. We're having to rebuild because we had a veteran team built around Delhomme/S. Davis/Peppers/Smith/etc that mostly contended when healthy from 03-08. That team got old in a hurry, then we didn't spend any money and kept a lame duck coach before the lockout. Now we have a rookie QB, rookie head coach, and I think it's a little early to declare this whole thing a total failure. Don't get me wrong, Hurney has made some bad calls, but any GM that holds a job for 10 years makes bad calls, that why I asked who you'd replace him with.

you do realize Fox had JUST AS MUCH say on drafting a player as Hurney? you really need to ask how Fox had a hand in everything?

the Armanti Edwards play was a bad one.. yet, that one point holds no water for you.

If the Panthers end up with the #1 pick (or even a Top 3 pick), Hurney will find a way to screw it up.

Right, like he did last time they had the #1 pick, when he blew it on Cam Newton. Or when he had the #2 pick and fugged up and took Julius Peppers. Or when he wasted the #8 on Jordan Gross. Or when he somehow thought taking Jonathan Stewart #13 was a good idea. Or when he had the #14 and he traded down and took that bum Jon Beason.

Word is, Cam wasn't going be his pick

Besides coaches have say in who to get as well.... I mean they are the coach
