It's about time more people get on board with realizing Hurney is garbage. Hopefully they start looking at JR critically too. 17th season is almost over and how many winning seasons will we have come January? Four. Things need to change. More than just bringing in Stone-Faced Mute Man.

Marty Hurney said he will not sign a new contract with the Panthers out of respect to JR because he is extremely happy to be with this organization and will stay with the Panthers (without a contract) as long as JR wants him around..

Right, because its not like there was any controversy about what the Panthers should do with that pick. My God. Not to throw cold water on the huddle overreaction party, but look at Hurney's draft picks. All of them, not just the few busts you pick out. People say it's easy to get first rounders right, then why do so many GM's not get first rounders right? What GM do you people want to replace Hurney with?

I am virtually positive Hurney signed a contract extension but the details were never released.

I think putting wins/losses on Hurney is a bit silly. We had a very talented team in many of those years.

These last 3 years are another story, but it all comes back to JR's plan. In 2009 he gave Fox another year with the same team he had built in 2008 to win. When he didn't, in 2010 there was the veritable roster blow up etc. This, combined with not having a #1 and flat out missing on our 2nd rnd pick really hurt our ability to fill holes. This year they did what they could to address some of those holes (got TE, DT in FA/trades), but injuries have absolutely ravaged areas previously thought to be strengths (LB, OL). So yeah.

Dunno. Hurney isn't great, but I think the Panthers record doesn't tell the whole story about him as a GM. He is doing exactly what JR wants.

Yeah, look at his picks that have us on the brink of being the worst team in the league 2 straight years. His picks that have brought home wins 43% of the time in the past 5 years, 16% of the time in the past 2 years.

Which GM would I rather have? How about one that can bring us some players that will allow us to have a GOOD special teams, a GOOD defense, a consistently GOOD offense?

But who? Can you name one? If the team takes your advice and fires Hurney, they'll have to hire a new GM. So who should it be? Who's done a better job of drafting and signing than Hurney? If they lose a game by 30 next year, will you call for that guy to be fired?
