When does the blame start landing on Rivera

Just sayin..., you give him 9 games and all of the sudden he is the one that all the blame is put on?

I mean....just as a comparison...how long did we give Fox? Inconsistent like a motherfuger and you didn't seem him outta here after 3-4 years even.

That's where I was gonna go in an edit.

We are def the type of organization that entrusts a lot in coaching & gm work. I mean we let Seifert in for 3 seasons and it took a 1-15 year to get rid of him.

So yeah, at the very least I'll give him this coming offseason and all of next year. If its looking promising, keep going...but if its clear that we're digressing from strategy & game planning cases...there's no doubt there will be big consequences

Not upset at all....its just ridiculous to me that people see problems and automatically have this fire him fire that guy fire everyone and start over mentality...

well, this is what happens when you cut everyone and clean house. you start over and have to build up from the bottom...which would be what we are currently doing.

agreed with DP, losing like today is absolutely inexcusable...but I would never put the blame completely on the coaching staff. Its not Rivera/Chuds fault that Olsen let that ball hit his chest and drop to the ground....

Addressing that a coach isn't doing well isn't saying he needs to go

Coaches can change, improve, and experience speed bumps just like players

But if it made ya laugh that's cool or whatever

Rivera in my opinion has shown no improvement, and has regressed worse than any other member of the organization. I'm not in the fire Rivera camp but he's done nothing to make me want to say "that guy is a real NFL coach, he knows what he's doing." He's called embarrassing timeouts, and when he's picked and chosen his battles with regard to when to have practices and when not to, he's made poor calls IMHO.

There is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for a team who nearly beat GB and NO to come off a bye and lay an egg like that. That falls primarily on the coaching staff, and their inability to make adjustments. OK, Titans blitz on first down? Go into the I and run the ball off left guard. Brings up a manageable 2nd down. IIRC we ran it once on 2nd down, and Stewart got a healthy gain. Cam can't do it all, and that's really true when Olsen and Smith fail to catch most of the passes thrown to them and Byron Bell misses his block every play.

One thing I definitely fault Ron Rivera is that we are one of the most penalized teams in the league. You have to teach discipline. The special teams coaching and defensive coaching is not directly Ron's fault, but he does have to put these coaches on the hot seat for putting such a crappy product on the field.

The special teams coach has got to go! I've never seen such poor special teams. Last years ST unit was better.

#1 in penalties.

OK so saying Im wondering if Rivera is even right for this team doesn't have any semblance of saying he needs to go? I forgot how well versed you all are in coaching methods and knowing who is right for what.

this reminds me why I never come on here until tuesday.

hep, when did I ever say I was justifying the loss? Just don't think the entire blame goes on the coaches. Yes, it was partly their fault for not making the correct adjustments, but I in no way place the entire blame on them. In fact, when was it just cool to provide a scapegoat for the entire game? Its not like Rivera missed a game winning FG or anything.

If anyone is justifying anything, its you, for placing the blame completely in one place.

I'm not justifying anything. This game has me wondering if Rivera has this team going in the right direction. Leading the league in penalties highlights a lack of discipline, which falls on the coaching staff. It's not the fact we lost, but we lost to a mediocre team, at home, after a bye week, and put up NO fight. The team looked like they didn't prepare at all, and that again falls on the coaching staff.
