When does the blame start landing on Rivera

And no way we should have lost 30-3 to the Titans, inexcusable. But taking leaps and bounds to Rivera being a horrible head coach are premature.

I get that we should be pissed off after a loss (trust, pissed doesn't describe my mood), but losing turns this place into a hell hole/ psych ward.

We lost 30-0 and 41-0 in our games against the Falcons in 2002 and everybody went nuts (pretty much like they are now).

The next year we were in the Super Bowl.

I agree and have no issue with giving a coach time to build his empire and instill his philosophy. I'm not one calling for him to be fired.

But for various reasons which are useless to point out on this board I think he may be a flop. Just my prediction.

As a PSL owner i would much rather be sitting in a playoff game and having prime-time games to watch, trust me.

He may not be a great head coach at this time. On the other hand he will only get better with time and experience. The real issue is not whether he is a great coach now but whether he will be a great coach in 3 years when we will be judging him and deciding his future.

As for being a PSL owner watching a playoff game, it brings back not so great memories of 2008, LOL.

Fox ain't looking too bad now is he? Maybe next time you yuck mouths will think twice before running the only HC to take this team to a superbowl out of town.

no one in their right mind misses Fox.. games like today happen all the time under his watch.

and if Rivera follows the same routine, he'll get canned too..

Blast from the past...

Does it matter to you

Most folks said 'no', but it certainly seems to matter to a lot of folks now.

Oddly enough, I'm actually even less concerned about our record now than I was then.

agreed...but

The team should not come out looking as bad as they did today. I understand the other team wants to win too, but two weeks to prepare and this is what we get? All on Rivera.

Actually I saw a stat online that said the percentage of teams winning after bye weeks has gone down this year. At one point is was only about 25%. Might be closer to 40 some now but in past years it was definitely over 50.

I know Belichick lost coming off a bye week this year too, among others.

Theory was that with the new practice rules, bye weeks might not be the advantage they once were. Guess we'll see that play out in years ahead.

No, for the last 10 to 15 years the winning percentage has always been at 50% for the team coming off the bye.

He will (and should) get a pass for the first season.

Panthers getting their ass wooped by the titans after a Sunday, IMHO, shows the team was ill prepared coming back after the buy. That falls on the coaches shoulders.

Only 25% of teams in the NFL have won coming off the bye week this season. An NFL mandated 4 days off may have something to do with it. I just wish I hadn't learned that stat from Ron Rivera yesterday in his Sirius interview.

Pat K asked him how he addressed the team after the obvious loss of composure from his veteran players (Smith and CJ). Wanted to know if he ripped them a new one or handled it differently. Rivera said he thought about it long and hard Sunday night and decided he couldn't rip the players and let them see him lose his composure in addressing their loss of composure. Personally I want to see him get mad once instead of just rubbing his nose.

I'm not saying the Panthers should have won the game, but after two weeks to look that bad? All on Rivera.

9 games

9 games?

This thread....after nine games?

Excuse.

See: 49ers, with 'less talent/potential'

No one is saying hey don't make mistakes, their on pace for a 2-14 record like last year. 2-14 for ANY NFL coach is 100% unacceptable. Season isn't over yet though but 2-14 is bad.
