Nothing positive to take from this game.

fox didn't exactly have a pass. lots of people were unhappy with him.

defense was not good, but it was better than usual. fell apart late, yes, but honestly if our offense was it's typical self I think they would have been fine.

bad game... hopefully this wasn't some major thing exposed by the Titans but instead just a bad game after a bye like many other teams have had.

Yeah lets hope and pray Rivera becomes a better coach, we draft the next Suh, Beason, Gettis, and TD come back 100%, We hire whoever in the hell coaches the Bears' special teams, and a plethora of other things needed for this team.

Yelping "WE GON WIN NEXT YEAR" is the single most idiotic thing I've ever read around these parts.

This team is several key components away from being what a 'good' team is. Which "one more year" is not going to fix.

Christ.

agreed... after this years draft, I think we have a good opportunity to fill holes that have been on this team for years..

I'd like to see a few drafts myself..

Rome wasn't built in a day, even though 99% of society expects it to be..

read through the forums.. there are plenty of people who were afraid to let Fox go.. no where did I say it was a majority vote..

this season, these losses, have been about far more than just lack of talent at some key player positions.

exactly.. this team has been learning a lot this year...

and not everyone here wants to cut Rivera now, some of us are just OK with admitting he hasn't done a very good job yet.

If we can say that Naanee or Captain or any other player has not played well, then we can say that someone is not seemingly coaching well.

Doesn't mean I want to cut those players. Just means I hoped for better.

This may be our first disagreement ever haha

You call a coach out when he's underperforming plain and simple. That happens throughout EVERY NFL head coaches tenure from day 1. It doesn't matter if its Belichick, Mangini, Lovie, Herm, Marty, Lewis, Fisher, Del Rio, Shanahan, Capers, Seifert, Fox, Rivera...on and on... When a coach is choking on a dick, you remove the dick from his mouth

I agree with you actually.. there is absolutely no way Rivera is getting a pass and will NOT be called out..

as sure as the sky is blue, Rivera will be facing a venomous fanbase and media this week..

however, there is a difference between some people calling him out and others thinking this game solidifies Rivera as a bad coach..

maybe in another year or 2 we'll see the truth..

it's hard for me to really think Rivera is a good coach, I've not seen evidence of it. I understand the limitations he is working with right now, which is why I wouldn't make a definite statement about his abilities, but I am pretty disappointed in him so far. Still hopeful he can turn it around, though.

for sure, the coaching criticisms will now begin to amplify regardless because we're simply not winning and its the halfway point

I'm starting to think this team doesn't have any talent/no depth. Which I think has led to the special teams problems. I have watched other teams substitute players in with no noticeable dropoff in performance. Once this team lost its defensive leaders, it has been pretty putrid. Look at AE on special teams. This guy has been useless, but still starts every week.

    • Man whether it's the Panthers or the Hornets it's crazy how many foolish talking heads there are in the local media. I just unsubscribed from locked on Hornets. Doug Branson with his cheesy mustache is an absolute clown especially when his partner isn't on. Talking about trading LaMelo because he can't win basketball games by himself with no semblance whatsoever of a legitimate Center. These YouTube personalities will say anything for a damn click.
    • I’m hoping for that exact same scenario, two seconds would be big for us. I’d hope for 3 impact players. A WR/DL/DE that can contribute like this current class would be key to our rebuild.
    • When I look at what I can find, a carryover problem from last season is our receivers are still unable to get enough separation on a consistent basis. Canales is certainly better at scheming them open, like how he sneaked out Thielen for a big play. But then he's also having Thielen running routes he frankly shouldn't be doing anymore. I feel part of the RZ issues is not really having anyone - after trading Diontae - who can make those quick cuts on a short field to give whoever is under center a wider window to throw. We also only have one guy with blazing speed in Thompkins and from what I could see, he's really used more to draw away coverage. I bring this all up because what Canales needs for sustained success - other than QB - is the other receiver pieces we'll be getting in the offseason.  Otherwise, I have to say that Canales isn't as afraid to be aggressive offensively. As others mentioned, still doesn't run the ball enough at times. Finally, I still feel his playcalls still doesn't line up with his mantra of getting rid of the ball within x amount of seconds. Maybe I count too slow. Oh, and I'm glad Canales first game after a bye looked good. I feared he'd be like Ron Rivera where we would fall flat on our faces.
