So who do you want with our 3rd overall pick?

Do people actually want Cam to be mobile?

Sure, it's exciting and an additional weapon, but if I had to choose I'd take pocket passer Cam over mobile Cam any day of the week. I want him to have as much time as possible before he has to take off scrambling.

Kalil >>>>>>>

:iagree:

Clearly the coaches and Cam have focused on developing his game as a pocket passer. They've drawn up some designed runs here and there, but you can tell they're stressing stability in the pocket way over mobility.

If we have a top 5 pick we have to go offense or trade down.

Top 5 picks(just based on BPA)

1. Luck

2. Kalil

3. Barkley

4. Blackmon

5. Jones

Other possible

Richardson

Jeffrey

Martin

The best defensive player in the draft is Claiborne who COULD be a top 5 pick but probably will go in the 8-10 range.

If we have a top 2-3 pick we would be reaching but it may be worth it. Even if we have the 2nd or 3rd pick some other team may be willing to trade up and snag one of the QBs.

The top 3 QBs in this class have potential to be really really good.

Yeah, even with Andrew Luck most likely going first, there's going to be other teams chomping at the bit to get at Matt Barkley.

Some are saying Barkley is comparable to Luck. I personally disagree with that but it's a quarterback league and while we may not be able to take a teams entire draft like we could with Luck, the #2 pick will be pretty valuable.

I'm not cool with dropping down more than 10 spots though.

I agree.

10 spots will be a lot, and we would miss out on a lot of needed picks in that situation.

However, if we're sitting at #2, and if the Team B is at #7, I say we take that trade, as well as a 3rd (or a 2nd, if we could get it.)

this is a nightmare of a situation right now because presently we have a ton of needs (RT/future LT, WR2, NT, OLB, CB maybe). If this team had been performing better maybe 2 of those needs wouldn't be pressing, but the only thing we can hope for is that a lot of the guys that are in there are going to get better and grow in the system. After all the money we shelled out this season at least 3 of those contracts are on IR, and DeAngelo's contract wasn't smart spending. His money could've went to a. being saved, b. a good FA DT, c. a good FA corner, and on and on. So because Hurney thinks that no decent FA from another team can improve this team even a smidge, we retained a guy whose role in this offense is like 1/3rd of what it was in the previous offense we had. DeAngelo's started all nine games and isn't even close to having 100 carries yet. It's probably going to be week 12 when he finally hits that milestone, and he's not even being used as a weapon in the passing game more than sporadically.

stop being so fuging stingy when it comes to bringing in outside help

Dwill signings in this offense was a huge mistake. Have a ton of money going to one player who touches the ball maybe 10 times a game if that. Isn't near the blocker that Stewart is or Receiving threat.
