Breaking News: Denver plans to deal QB Cutler

nobody attacks jake snugglers..what would be the point? Joke gets attacked regularly and rightfully so. That is when "defense mode" kicks in. A big #17 flashes in the sky and all the snugglers come running with their selective stats, programs from 2003, and #17 pro-bowl jerseys.

jake snugglers defend any mention of Jake delhomme and they do so vehemently.

you guys just can't help yourselves and your (all of you) insecurity on the subject exposes you in every discussion

Some of us aren't Jake snugglers. Some of us just don't think Culter is an upgrade.

Seriously, you need to try to wrap that concept around you brain.

SMF the postseason counts...but again you see what you want to see which is that P55 is correct in saying that you can't ACCURATELY compare total yearlong stats like you did when all the starting QBs didn't play 17 games. He then posted total yearlong stats. You didn't like that because it doesn't further your point.

I saw him post "incredible" stats about how Jake was 22nd in one stat, 18th in another. He was near the bottom in touchdown to interception efficiency, even if you only count the regular season. Are those stats supposed to somehow prove that he's not a bad quarterback? LOL

The only thing Jake supporters have to hang their hats on is some misleading yards per attempt stat because Steve Smith is GOD at YAC. What do you think Cutler's yards per attempt would be if he had the same o-line, incredible running backs, and all-world receiver? We have the best supporting cast in the league on offense, yet our Lead Actor is the equivalent of David Hasselhoff.

Jay is much better than Jake..no question but that debate as well as if the will trade him for Peppers is ridiculous. If Peppers does not initiate this, it won't get done.

All this is becoming is another opportunity to hate/praise jake delhomme.

the "lunatic fringe" argument is not supported by the poll that was on Panthers.com and the snugglers are furious about this.

It's obvious. You will know this when they start making excuses as to why that poll is NOT accurate.

I want to have a bet with the Jake slobbers on this forum. If we have a losing record next season and Jake has a bad year by anyone's standards, I want you all to make a big thread at the end of the season with a thread title of "I WAS WRONG" and I want you to call yourselves morons that should never be listened to. If we have a winning record and Jake has a great season by anyone's standards, then I will do the same on the other end.

Who's in? :D

I love it when the Jake sniffers like to pretend that the postseason somehow doesn't count. It's almost like the preseason to them lol. He had the all-time worst performance for a playoff quarterback and it's treated like it was a pointless August game.

And of course age matters. Are you going to keep defending him until he's 40?

In fact, question for Jakers: At what point WOULD you want to get rid of Jake? What more would he have to do? If we go 7-9 this year (which is looking very optimistic) and he posts similar or even slightly worse stats than this season, would you THEN look to get rid of him?

I have an idea that will allow you Jakers to have a less clouded view of Cutler. Just start calling him Jake Utler and you'll still be able to have a Jake QB. :D

so you condone the use of stats...just not the ones that don't shine a bright light on Joke...

got it

Two birds with one stone.

Again stats are useful when used in context. Regular season stats are just that- amassed in the regular season and appropriate for comparison. Same with post season stats. But to mix the two is ignorant and inaccurate. Maybe we should say that Brees is a terrible quarterback because he didn't throw one completion in the post season. Or that

since Eli had a 40 passer rating in the playoffs they should can him also, or since Chad Pennington threw 4 interception in the postseason he sucks too.

Maybe we should say Joe Flacco was better in the playoffs because he threw for more yards than Peyton Manning while ignoring that Peyton's passing rating was 40 points higher, Flacco played in more games, and on and on.

Again selective stats can prove anything.

He is clearly an upgrade and you have to be a snuggler to not see that. You need to wrap THAT around your brain.

for the record I am not a fan of Jay Cutler. But you don't have to be that great to be better than Jake Delhomme.

SMF, It has been posted AD NAUSEUM that Smitty (much less the Panthers) was not near the top in YAC last year. Drew Brees and Jake had similar INT %. Does that mean he is the same as Brees? No, but it means that he was just as good INT-wise as Brees whom people consider to be far better. Cutler's stats aren't significantly better than Jake's except SHEER VOLUME WISE (yards, etc) which is not the biggest measure of a QB IMO. If you slam Jake for not being great due to those stats, then you can't turn around and say Cutler is SOOOOO MUUUUCHHH BETTER. It just isn't logical.

any stat can prove anything and any stat can be inconclusive of any opinion.

in Joke you have a failure and a contingent of faithful that hate to see him go and hate to be proven wrong who will manipulate anything they see into a positive about Jake. It's sick really.

I don't have to be a snuggle to not see that.

Just have a different opinion.

But please continue to call everyone a snuggler who has a different opinion from you. That will get them to see your point.
