Breaking News: Denver plans to deal QB Cutler

Actually as the unofficial president of the BDJS society I am fine with the ridiculous comments. It makes it that more apparent to the rational majority how far on the lunatic fringe many of them are.

As for Haslett, he can see with hindsight what Fox saw at the time, Jake was a diamond in the rough. Too bad many current fans werent around when Weinke and Peete played for us to understand why many of us like Jake.

Jake isn't great but I can't help it. I really like and admire him despite his faults and shortcomings. He does the best with what he has to work with and that is all I ask as a fan.

Right on P55. :)

"Jake isn't great"=OMGZ!!1!UTHINKSHEIZZANELITEQBBCYOUDEFENDHIM!!!1!!

This is what kills me. NOT ONE PERSON ON HERE THINKS HE IS AN ELITE QB...NOT ONE OF US WHO SUPPORT HIM HAS EVER POSTED ANYTHING REMOTELY RESEMBLING THAT yet we are accused of being jock sniffers because we think he is better for the team than someone that has proven ONLY that he is a big-armed, self-centered, non leader.

Panthers55, Jake is the third oldest starting quarterback in the league and was one of only three quarterbacks to finish the season with more picks thrown than touchdowns. 'Nuff said.

Not near enough said. Talk about selective stats. First of all you can't compare the picks he threw in the regular season and the postseason against quarterbacks who didn't even make it to the playoffs. That is why there are regular season stats and postseason stats. Secondly his age has nothing to do with anything or it makes Warner worse since he is older. How ignorant can you be.

He was ranked 18th in passer rating. Cutler was 16th, Eli Manning was 14th. Guess who was well below him- Roethlisberger, Flacco and a host of others.

How about efficiency- yards per attempt.- 4th in the league.

How about passer completion- 22nd

And I could go on but why bother. It won't change your mind anyway. I am sure you will go out and look for some obscure fact or tidbit to further your hatred for Jake. Just don't expect reasonally intelligent people to buy into that BS.

Acutally the first person to bring up Jake (and repeatedly I might add) in this thread as a discussion point was your partner in crime Sam Mills Fan. But don't let the facts get in the way of your argument.

I love it when the Jake sniffers like to pretend that the postseason somehow doesn't count. It's almost like the preseason to them lol. He had the all-time worst performance for a playoff quarterback and it's treated like it was a pointless August game.

And of course age matters. Are you going to keep defending him until he's 40?

In fact, question for Jakers: At what point WOULD you want to get rid of Jake? What more would he have to do? If we go 7-9 this year (which is looking very optimistic) and he posts similar or even slightly worse stats than this season, would you THEN look to get rid of him?

I have an idea that will allow you Jakers to have a less clouded view of Cutler. Just start calling him Jake Utler and you'll still be able to have a Jake QB. :D

so you condone the use of stats...just not the ones that don't shine a bright light on Joke...

And that makes it OK to go on and on and continue to stay off topic?

don't be so childish, wat would yo do if Sam Mills Fan dumped off a bridge?

You're not seriously trying to use postseason performance as an argument in favor of Cutler, are you? :sosp:

If so, check out Delhomme's postseason record prior to the most recent game. It's one of the best of any QB in the league right now.

I'd advise you to check Cutler's postseason record too, except...well, there's a bit of a problem there

SMF the postseason counts...but again you see what you want to see which is that P55 is correct in saying that you can't ACCURATELY compare total yearlong stats like you did when all the starting QBs didn't play 17 games. He then posted total yearlong stats. You didn't like that because it doesn't further your point.

nobody attacks jake snugglers..what would be the point? Joke gets attacked regularly and rightfully so. That is when "defense mode" kicks in. A big #17 flashes in the sky and all the snugglers come running with their selective stats, programs from 2003, and #17 pro-bowl jerseys.

jake snugglers defend any mention of Jake delhomme and they do so vehemently.

you guys just can't help yourselves and your (all of you) insecurity on the subject exposes you in every discussion

The ultimate example of the pot calling the kettle black. Not that it's a surprise or anything.
