Why don't we utilize Pilares, AE, or Tutu?

They just aren't impact guys or starters. They are back ups/bench players. Its that simple and plain.

Armanti got an opportunity at WR in pre-season and dropped a few passes, so he has to re-earn the trust of the coaching staff.

Pilares was hurt and it set him back in terms of practice.

Tutu must have not done much of anything to show he's better than LaFell or Naanee.

Can't examine that until you see Tutu on the field, Naanee maybe good in practice but my god does he not make enough plays on the field. Lafell has been more reliable.

1) because the playbook hasn't gotten to that point

2) they really don't have anything to offer better than what is already on the field

not really concerned, though. i'm not a believer nor am i particularly interested in any of them. imo, they haven't really done enough to warrant much attention other than getting drafted or picked up out of FA.

I haven't seen the need to utilize special packages that take Cam off the field. The "mountaineer" formation looked interesting in training camp. But so far the offense hasn't needed to use it, really.

Wouldn't mind to see it though. Wouldn't mind seeing AE get his a$$ on the field. Getting tired of wasting a roster spot on a guy who doesn't produce or contribute at all.

Armanti is as good as gone. He has no future here. I think Pilares and Tutu have chances to be decent players for us eventually. The film I have seen on Tutu for the Chargers, he has looked pretty good in the NFL. The film on Pilares at Hawaii looks pretty good as well. I guess I shouldn't say film. I mean youtube videos. I hope they can get some playing time. IT will only be tougher next season with Smith, LaFell, Gettis, and possibly Naanee

just isn't really a need for it. JR likes the guy a lot so they may try to appease him at some point and throw it in during a meaningless game at the end of the season. kind of like brad hoover running the wildcat. didn't really accomplish anything but looked different.

armanti edwards college videos looked a lot more impressive than pilares. i've got as much faith in one as the other.

everyone is hoping for another steve smith. when we have one, we'll know it right away. they won't be a project for long. yes, i know steve smith saw very little action as a WR his rookie year, but you knew there was something magical about him the moment that ball landed in his hands. you just don't get that with pilares or edwards.

Special packages? We have a limited number of offensive plays, why do people want the less talented guys to get the ball and take away opportunities for our real playmakers?

They're not playing for a reason. What you think they can do, and what they actually can do are not the same thing.

I understand rooting for guys to breakout and be that diamond in the rough, but that poo doesn't usually happen three years after joining the team. The real studs break through and prove they deserve the ball, it isn't just given to them.
