We take our freedom for granted. We should not. Thanks to those who have fought and sacrificed for what we have.

My father and most of his brothers fought in WWII. My father was not old enough but like many of his time, lied to get in. He was in the Navy for 21 yrs. My family was lucky...everyone came home. My mother's brother served 2 tours in Vietnam, another served in the Korean War.

I do not even want to try to imagine what their experiences were like. I do want to appreciate everyone who has fought for our country...from the beginning until now.

Yes, it does happen. When I lived on post, you knew when a unit was either mobilizing or on a FTX because the line of military wives going to the NCO club looked like ants.

Basketball game on an aircraft carrier is cool. My father retired on the USS WASP when I was 5. I remember that ship. They are impressive.

It's a helicopter carrier...
