Whats up with Cam's Press Conference?

Look, I love Newton, great player, young kid.

He has to learn that he is the face of the franchise.

...and it would probably be good if Marty or the PR group rehearsed him a bit on controlling his facial expressions so he doesn't like the Grinch in 'How the Grinch stole Christmas.'

I swear I expected him to say 'I hate the Whos' in Whoville'

Again, he's a young man but he is the face of the franchise. People listen to what he says and how he says it...happens when a person is an entertainer, an icon, and a would be Superman.

So buck-up our little $25 million buck-a-roo and put on a happy face for your 5 mins with the media who at least in Charlotte, gives you such good press....be glad you don't live in NYC.

Thought his press conference was right on time. No way could u be happy at 2 and 6 and he was watching film of our games. Bet he wasn't trying to critique the defense but looking at how to make himself better. Think Mr Newton has a firm grasp of where he is and where he wants to go! He don't mind the work in between.

These pressers are awkward and uncomfortable to watch. He is fulfilling an obligation, but you can tell it's the last thing he wants to do.

The local sports media sucks, and I'm sure the questions are redundant and moronic as previously stated, but why bother even uploading them to Panthers.com. They're depressing to watch.

Wow. Have you guys ever watched Cam's Wednesday press conferences? They are all the same. He is always extremely focused and tired looking. It is probably because Wednesday is their toughest day of practice during the week. But we probably need about 5 more pages on this thread of over analyze it.

Frankly, I like that Cam doesn't show off for the media. That might change when we're winning, but it's clear he's getting sick of answering the same questions over and over. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a soundbite worthy blowup at a member of the press later in the season if we don't start getting wins.

There is not much more Cam needs to say at this point. We know he has the skills, we know the Panthers have talent and can be potent on offense. The problem is defense, special teams, and all-around solid coaching and game management.

Cam can't speak to a lot of those things. He knows his role, to be a leader and weapon on offense. It's good that he talks to the media, but he doesn't have too much to work with given the current situation.
