When a hurricane is heading even toward the East Coast, I get my boat out of the water, and move everything of value off of the bottom floor of my families beach cottage.

We take mother nature very seriously in these parts.

Of course, in the Navy we actually went to sea when a Hurricane was coming. Easier to just go around the thing that to try to ride it out in port.
