Barnidge is an absolute stud on special teams and we're desperately missing that right now. We're gonna need depth at TE if we continue using Gary in ST.

Barnidge is a free agent after the season. I highly doubt we re-sign him given he was drafted for the previous coaching staff. I think we'll either re-sign Shockey or draft a #2 TE - or possibly re-sign Shockey and draft a TE to replace him in a year or two.

Barnidge is in the Olsen mold, but he is a great special teamer--see 2011 special team stats for some indication. Shockey is a role player, but his attitude is good. When was the last time we had a swagger on offense. I say give him a 3-year deal with about $6 million guaranteed.

I've always been a fan of his aggressive presence. If he stays for 3 years or longer, I'm buying an authentic jersey.
