Give him a 2 year extension. Shockey can play, and he's one of the few (if not the only) veterans on the team with a Superbowl ring. The team needs leaders.

He'll stay more healthy here in a 2 TE system anyway. Pay him. He's like 31, he has some years left, he's not as old as he seems really, just been around for a while.

Shock has had a history of minor injuries that cost him a few games a year. He is no Davis, or Otah, or even Barnidge.

Would love to keep him, for his toughness if nothing else. That type of thing can rub off on the rest of the team. Of the TE's, he's our Land Cruiser, while Olsen is our BMW.

I thought I would hate having Shockey on the team when we signed him.

He's one of those guys you don't get until he plays for you. I'd love for him to get a reasonable extension and stick here for a while.
