Penn State...what did Paterno know?

It's pretty obvious Paterno should go. He is old, he has his records and he is at the end of his contract.

I'd like to understand more about what Paterno did and did not do before we throw him under the moral bus. People tend to view moral decisions such as this in black and white when they never are. For all we knew he battled with his bosses to take action and struggled with the morality of it all.

At my previous firm it was understood that the only people who were allowed to go to the press or authorities were partners and there is a reason for that. If I saw a friend and coworker do something illegal it would not be an easy decision to risk my job over it. I'd like to think that I would make the "right decision" but it wouldn't be a simple thing to do either way.

I get where you are coming from.

However, we are talking about boy rape in a PSU shower, witnessed, and the most alarming thing...he was STILL AROUND until last week.

No excuse works for me, the chain of command stuff doesn't fly with me.

Not with this.

And I am perhaps the biggest Big 10 homer you will ever find.

That's fine. It doesn't seem like a hard decision to clean house. JoePa is in no danger of legal action just losing his job at the end of his career.
