Penn State...what did Paterno know?

I still don't grasp how:

1) You don't immediately DO something about it

2) You don't Immediately call the police

3) Why a grown man would need to call his father about this?

4) Why he went to Paterno about it, then relied on Paterno to do something about it

5) How you could work at a place and for a man, that so obviously let this slide

6) How you could see Sandusky after this and not punch his face.

A whole lot of McQueary's story makes no sense.

1.) Completely agree

2.) Completely agree

3.) No idea, that sounds like an extrememly awkward conversation to have to have.

4.) Just further evidence that Paterno was the King of that Fiefdom.

5.) Much less have knowledge he was using University facilities and running overnight camps for young boys on campus

6.) Completely agree.

Such a sad sad story. The guy deserves to get ass raped for the rest of his life.

Also after paterno "slumped in his chair and seemed saddened by the news" why didn't any of them go to the police?

What a bunch of bull and both of them should go to jail for not reporting such a disgusting crime.

Maybe.

Or it could have prompted 10 more to claim abuse to get on this civil lawsuit gravy train.

I am not judging anyone, because I don't "know" what happened. However, past history has shown that there are people out there that will jump on these types of accusations for a civil payout.

I'll just leave this here for anyone who still isn't convinced what Joe Paterno knew after speaking with Sandusky.

I would be interested to know if the "inappropriate behavior" that Paterno referred to was the showering....or if he is talking about abuse.

If it is the latter, then he should burn for not acting in a different manner.

A whole lot of McQueary's story makes no sense.

Not to mention that the story that a family friend is telling....that McQueary said that he did not witness anything....just that he heard sounds that he thought were of a sexual nature.

I think it is very possible that he is changing his story and lying to cover his own ass.

Even the most blind psu loyalist has thrown in the towel on this one. I for one find their disappearance refreshing.

Sadly that's not the case. State College is still awash in JoePa apologists. Hell, there are two people on this page alone of the thread who said they don't think there's enough evidence to form a proper opinion. And that's before you read back to remember what dumbshits fjblair and slyvainlight are.

he knew everything, give me a break!

Of course he did.

Here's even more, as if we needed it.

In the testimony, Paterno said he "knew inappropriate action was taken by Jerry Sandusky with a youngster" after a meeting with then-graduate assistant Mike McQueary, who allegedly saw Sandusky sexually abusing a boy in a locker room the shower the previous night, but did not inform police and waited several days to meet with his boss, athletic director Tim Curley, because he "didn't want to interfere with their weekends."

I don't think Joe Pa should have been fired until after the season. I feel that the University owed him that much after 62 yrs of service that up until this was flawless.

Not advocating that I agree with any of the alleged molestations or what not... There's a difference in what I'm talking about.

There's the molestation which I STRONGLY disagree with, and then there's Joe Pa. I understand how the two are linked, but at a minimum, He deserved at least 1 more game at a minimum!
