Penn State...what did Paterno know?

all this focus on Paterno and I don't condone what he did by any means...and I also really don't know what he did or didn't know or what he did or didn't do....all that said, the focus sure has falled of Sandusky pretty quick. POS

Alot of that is because he won't say what he heard. There is alot of he said/she said between what is believed that was said to him and what was actually said.

Maybe that is by design. There is definitely more to this, it's just getting started.

This poo is going to get a lot uglier....Paterno would have never hired a lawyer if there wasn't something HUGE that hasn't come out yet....

Most idiotic statement in the whole thread....and that says a lot.

Paterno is in the middle of a fuging poo storm with this. He is smart to hire a lawyer in this situation. If you were in the same situation and did not hire a lawyer, you are a fuging moron.

What he was told or not told is still in question. Anything he says can be twisted by attorneys (not to mention that he is 85 yo and tends to ramble).

I don't how much you guys listen to WFNZ, but I listen to it a lot (until I get sirius/xm). There is a guy who calls the shows a lot by the name of "Steeler Mark"......he usually calls and offers his expert critique on why the panthers are so awful and will never be as good as the steelers. He really grinds my gears and is probably one of the worst sports talk callers in the history of the world.

He called Wednesday and made one of the most idiotic, arrogant, and ignorant remarks I've ever heard on a radio show. He said that Marc & Taylor (the hosts of the drive) should ask every caller with an opinion on Joe Pa what team they pull for. He said that people just want to punish PSU football and paterno because they were big 10 fans of other schools. You don't get the real ignorance of his opinion without hearing it. I had to change the dial. Absolutely disgusting. I heard that WFNZ banned him from calling the show because of it.

Yeah, while I think Joe Pa and the PSU administration actions are despicable, he is still protected by the constitution. Paterno absolutely needs to hire an attorney and from here on out keep his fuging mouth shut.

Did you guys here Paterno speak the other night? My God, I think in his 8 minutes of rambling he successfully constructed 2 complete sentences. Paterno should thank the school for cancelling his press conference before he was terminated.

just think it's f'ed up...Sandusky molested all these kids like a sick POS and we don't seem to hear much about him.

Yup. All these dumbasses on my facebook feed need to stfu and get a reality check. They need to support the victims, not some senile old man.

The Patriot-News of Harrisburg, which first reported the story of the Sandusky investigation in early 2010, said Friday that the earliest documented report of possible abuse goes back to 1995 and involved Sandusky's now-legally adopted son. The boy was a teenage foster child in his home at the time.

Nothing personal, and I mean this in the nicest way, but don't know what the fvck you're talking about.

Is your central argument that Sandusky was a professor and not a coach, therefore it wasn't within JoePa's jurisdiction to fire him? Because not only is that dumb and untrue, it's completely meaningless. No one is mad that Sandusky wasn't properly fired. THEY'RE PISSED BECAUSE HE WAS A KNOWN PEDERAST PARADING AROUND CAMPUS FOR 14 YEARS and no one told the police.

So pardon me, but don't concern yourself with my understanding of the facts when you clearly can't speak intelligently about the subject.

You're such a dolt, I mean tool. Or whatever. Thanks for the clarity, hope to speak as intelligently as you when I grow up.

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
