It's absolutely unconscionable that multiple people at the highest levels of athletic and administrative leadership at Penn State allowed this monster to continue to operate using his privileges at the University as cover and opportunity to continue his sexual abuse of children. It's beyond sick.

All involved watched this creep hang around the campus for years after the revelation without facing the police? Atrocious.....

Let them finish the year and transfer without penalty. If they want the education honor their scholarship and allow them to finish their degree.

Post of the year. And this football program will probably be toast through natural course anyway. If I'm a blue chip high school LB am I going to committ to Penn State? Not a fuging chance. Not a place I would want to represent and pay money to for the rest of my life.

From an interview with the co-author of his book:

My first real contact with Jerry Sandusky came from a rather odd question he posed to me: "How much do you weigh, young man?" I was puzzled, because I knew he wasn't interested in me as a linebacker, but I told him I weighed about 95 pounds. "Get up on that scale," he ordered. I did and the locker room scale topped out at 96.

"Not bad," Jerry said, trying to sound as mean as possible, "but you still have some work to do." Sensing my confusing, Jerry stared at me and continued. "We gotta get you up to 100 pounds before you're ready to fight me."

This is what happens when you have coaches hanging on to beat records. Paterno and Bowden were figureheads for the last 15 years, relying on coaches like Sandusky to get them those all important wins to stay ahead of the other guy. I'm not surprised Paterno was in a fog through all of this. He doesn't even know where he is at this point. But he's still racking up those wins to get him past Eddie, isn't he? I don't think Bowden knew about all the stuff that got FSU in trouble, either. I think these two guys were so focused on themselves and staying ahead of the other guy that it created environments where players could rape their girlfriends and a monster like Sandusky could fly under the radar.

And let me be clear. I'm a huge Bobby Bowden fan. Love the guy. But any fool could tell you he wasn't really coaching that team his last few years, any more than Paterno is now. The record that both these men were so focused on getting to first....what does it mean now?

This is why I'm glad a justice system is put into place instead of in the public's hands like it was 500 years ago where they killed anyone who was even thought of being guilty regardless if they were or not. Yes go ahead and kill Sandusky, but leave Paterno alone until we know his involvement.

FSU players stole some clothes and shoes and over a decade later cheated on exams and were all punished by the school.

Big difference between that and enabling coke orgies or the systematic rape of children.

And yes Bowden his last few years was as useless as Mack Brown is now.

I agree. I love Coach Bowden and don't mean to link him to the crap at PSU. I just think this ego battle between he and Joe fostered an environment where stuff went on in both places that normally wouldn't have. And in one case it had tragic consequences. I don't think Joe Pa is a bad person. There is a long line of players who will stand up for him as someone who helped them become the people they are today. I really don't think he knew the extent of Sandusky's sickness. He probably saw it as an isolated incident.

JoePa needs to swing for this. It is HIS program and under his watch in the stadium he built where this happened...not once but over the course of a decade.

There are sick sick people in the world and Sandusky is one of them. THe part that pisses me off is people letting it go on for 10+ years. Sorry but inaction in this case is almost as damning as the act itself.

Pardon me if I fail to see the similarity between a few players running wild in college with some FAMU sluts and a college Administration turning a blind eye to KIDDIE RAPE.

They are apples and oranges, actually more like watermelons to grapes imo.

I was talking about the coaches, not the administrations.

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
