I'm more of a single player guy, and have finished the campaign. I won't give my thoughts on that so I don't spoil anything for anyone, but I did enjoy it.

Multiplayer is a HUGE step up over MW2. It's so much easier to play with skill. In MW2's multiplayer it did not matter how talented you were, there was so much random crap blowing up and spawn points right behind you that you were dead within seconds of spawning. You can actually survive and stalk people around.

Spec Ops is fun. The missions have been fun. Survival mode isn't as Nazi Zombies, at least not so far, but I've only done 4 or 5 matches on a couple of maps-and there are a bunch, just to clarify.

Overall, MW3 is well worth the hype. I'll review the SP once the games been out a while if anyone's interested. (aka....this thread is still going)

Spawn points are TERRIBLE on MW3. They may be the worst spawns out of any of the games initially, even Black Ops. Difference is, I don't know how they can ever improve on them considering how small the maps are.

I just can't get into the maps, they all feel the same too me. I can name most of the maps on CoD4 and MW2 off the top of my head. Not sure it's going to be like this here.

Not trying to sound like a hipster that doesn't play COD just because everyone else does, but is there really any difference between this game and MW2? I played for a couple games with my friend yesterday and honestly wouldn't have been able to tell the difference

The connectivity is a huge issue. I'm capable of hosting every match, but rarely do and have to deal with all sorts of lag.

The map variety sux too, I play for about 11 hours in total and played a map for the first time while there are other maps I already know like the back of my hand. One map I played my very match on and haven't seen it again.

The UMP is so over powered again, you about can't beat it with most assault rifles. As assault rifles go the ACR is beast.

For some reason I suck at this game. I'm struggling to maintain a 1.23 KD, which is embarrassing.

I agree on the maps. Too tight, don't like them. Would like more open worlds.

Knifing is terrible, at least to me (and I play on a super-fast school connection). Seems like players lunge forward several feet to kill me. I can't knife anyone unless i have a 2 second head start or something.

Speaking of connection, I've found it to be pretty bad, even on my connection. I lag constantly and get disconnected from games easily.

Shotguns have too much range. I can practically snipe with it.

Damage is more realistic, although it's still frustrating to put 6-8 bullets into an enemy and they kill you with one (not a headshot).

The weapons are decent. I'm not thrilled by the selections. Could be a result that I'm just on level 39 (and Scavenger, which I've been waiting on). So far love the CMP3 (whatever the assault rifle if call) and the UMP45

Love the kill confirmed mode (play that almost exclusively). The other game modes kind of suck and were more fun on Black Ops.

About halfway done with campaign. It's fun to me.

I'll get it next week and bring my 2.0+ kd over and dominate every game like usual. And no I rarely play I am just the best in every lobby basically. No this is not arrogant or a fallacy. Basically fact for every cod since mw1. Yes I would like a cookie for my accomplishments.

Being good at cod is about as difficult as wiping your butt. Defies logic how I see people with a below 1.0 kd and who constantly sacrifice themselves to chase down someone for 1 kill. Morons.

I have played every COD/MWF game since COD 2, which was the sh** in it's day. It is a bit arcadey but the COD series have always been fun.

I played BF2 and it was really cool with the destructible environment but the maps always seemed too big for the amount of people playing.

I like multiplayer but I really want the campaign to be enjoyable as well.

Any advice?

Really depends on what you like. If you like TDM, super fast action, arcade type easier game, play MW3.

If you like a complex game, that is amazing on objective game types, and feels more realistic than the competitor, choose BF3.

Or be like me and get both cause they both bring something different to the table.

I actually really enjoyed the Campaign for BF3 and think it's better then what I've played so far of MW3. Online wise, ones more strategic and best played with friends while the other is arcade and super fast paced. Really just depends on what you want in your online competitive play.

Well sounds like I'll just wait a while till the price goes down on ebay before I buy it. I'll be busy with nhl12 and assassins creed: revelations in the mean time.

Call of Duty Elite is still having issues... I got it to work once for about 5 minutes, but even then the only part that worked was the Black Ops playercard.

And I discovered that I'm absolutely terrible at game. Not sure why, cant figure it out. I can unload 50 rounds of machine gun ammo half way across the map at someone, see the hit markers showing up, but then they pop me twice with a SCAR and it's over. In the killcam it's a hail of gunfire coming in all over them, but not hitting them. Just cant get it.

The hit areas seem f**ked up still. That was a issue in black ops.
