On the 1st play of the Steelers/Ravens game, Ray Rice had a long run called back for holding.

The next play, the Ravens had the ball 1st and 10.

Why wasn't it 1st and 20? It is as if no play occurred at all. Can anyone explain this to me?

It looked to me like the hold was close to the line of scrimmage. It certainly didn't appear to be 10 yards downfield.

Well, first of all that holding call was just about as much BS as the one called on Smitty! I needed Ray Rice's points!

Especially in Pittsburgh. Honestly, I think playing there is worse than playing in Dallas, Atlanta, or the Meadowlands.

Also, yeah, holding is a penalty from the spot of the foul.
